LOL, that possibility did occur to me.

Just didn't see that post.

Chaplin said:Yep, livin' in good ole Burbank... Trying to talk to cheesebeef about getting a Suns group together for the playoffs, but nothing concrete as of yet.
cheesebeef said:yeah - that was my bad this weekend, but I had to watch the first game with big bro. If my schedule permits(and my car permits - damn CHECK ENGINE light!) - I'll meet up with people in the Los Angeles area for Game 2.
Chaplin said:What about just doing Game 3 since it will be on a weekend?
Forget you then.Ouchie-Z-Clown said:cheese and i will be at coachella.
se7en said:Coachella? You’re not a real Suns fan. Where are your loyalties man? Just kidding. I had a great time at Coachella a couple of years ago. Who are the main artists this year?
Ouchie-Z-Clown said:i may even make the drive up if its gonna be a group outing.
cheesebeef said:you'd come up for the Wedneday game?
Come on LA peeps - let's actually do this. The game starts at 7:30, right? I'll go into Burbank (although it'll take me forever to get there) - or anywhere else that's in the middle of Burbank and West Side.
Chaplin said:Burbank would be nice, but we don't have to do there--we can do Hollywood somewhere, although that would take me some time to get there.
cheesebeef said:yeah - me too - but it Hollywood at least be a little closer for me and sdave Ouchie a longer haul - having to go all the way through the west side and then getting over the hill is like an hour at least of driving for me.
Don't want to watch Game 2 by myself though and not gonna drive down to OC. Any suggestions?
And Elindholm and fordronken and anyone else out here should get off their asses and meet up as well - come on boys - it's the run to the FINALS!

Chaplin said:Well, there's always Barney's Beanery. I live closer to Hollywood, but unfortunately I have no idea where a good sports bar is.
fordronken said:"Yeah...can we have dinner around five? I have to get to Hollywood to watch a basketball game with some people I've never met before."
se7en said:Since I’m in Studio City, Burbank and Hollywood certainly work for me. There’s a sports bar on Ventura BLVD in Sherman Oaks called Cozy’s. They have huge big screen TV’s and some pool tables. Of course now that I’ve insulted the Cardinals, Cheese and Ouchie will come and kick my butt.

Yes, I live in Claremont, which is basically the next city east of Pomona. So it's a trek. That in itself wouldn't be a killer, except that (a) I'm about to go out of town for ten days, with a lot of getting ready left to do, and (b) thanks to our two-year-old, I really don't have much discretionary time for entertainment anymore, especially in the early evenings. Most of the time, the only way I can watch the games is to TiVo them and then cram them in from about 9:00 to 10:00, sometimes even fast-forwarding through "boring" stuff like sideouts and free throws.
If the Suns get deep into the playoffs, I may try to negotiate an evening off with my wife (although given her work schedule, that's also complicated). Pasadena would be fairly easy for me to get to, if that would work for everyone else.
Chaplin said:What city do you live in again, cheese? Irvine?
Pasadena wouldn't be a problem for me, and it might be easier to get to for Ouchie as well--freeways all the way (which isn't exactly "easy" in LA, but still). Hollywood has no freeways going to it, so if you're coming from the Westside or the coast, it can be a royal pain in the arse to get there.
The problem is, the exact center of where everyone lives is probably around downtown or South Central--not exactly a viable option to watch Suns games...
EDIT: Personally, I would love to have a few drinks and a sit-down with all the LA guys--most of us are pretty intelligent posters... Eric and I have talked about it before many times, we've just never been able to follow through.
Ouchie-Z-Clown said:this is gonna sound odd, but what about fox sports grill at the staples center? is it open on non-game days? could you imagine a bunch of rabid suns fans invading that place for a suns playoff game?
maybe we should try to do this on the weekend. next round?
