What is the offense?

Can we even tell from game 1? Are we a running team, vertical passing, WCO, Wing T?

Just curious I was looking at BLake's career and in 2000 with the Saints he was having his best year since 95, 61%, rating over 80, not a ton of TD's but I seem to recall they were more of a short passing team and less of a bombs away team than he was used to.

If he's the same player now he was then I think it could be very interesting what he can do in our offense but with Sullivan being a new OC I'm not even sure what our offense is yet.

From everything I was at the scrimmage and in the preseason game, I'm going to define this offense as an "Option" offense, which has been used to much success at such schools as Army, Navy, Nebraska, Penn State, Florida, Florida State, and Miami (Fla.).

Sincerely,

Joe Theisman

Looked like Old Style Raider ball to me.

Pound the ball...Pound the Ball...chuck it deep....hit the TE....

Mix and match from there.

don't get mad...

If I recall, the Ravens didn't have all that good of a passing game and they won the superbowl. QB's name? I can't recall. If our D-fence cand dominate like theirs did,.....we might have a chance. Food for thought.

According to Emmit we are playing the same basic system the Felons (pre Parcels) and Rams use.

I didn't see the Rams offense at all.

The Rams are all about the Post and the Slant. They thrive on YAC. That's why they looked like ***** without Az Hakim, who had the speed necessary to exploit the deep slant.

We just seemed to be doing a lot of deep outs and flys.

Thats what I was expecting but not seeing the game wasn't sure.

That makes the most sense given our personnel. THat makes it likely Gilmore or Johnson will start at WR because you got to have one guy with enough speed to get deep. Boldin seems to be the slot guy in the 3WR set.

That sounds about right out of those folks, especially Spider. He's a complete idiot.

Memo to Spider: Simply talking out of your ass about Plummer and then putting LMMFAO after every post does not necessarily mean that you have anything intelligent to say.

I don't know if Spider is on the Freak board, don't think so.

The funny thing there is I'm gone a week, come back and that thread one of the better posters sarcastically says "where's all the Cards fans now that jake played well." I took her bait and responded and later that day someone on there starts in with the "get the hell off this board what are you doing here stuff."

Happened there before, I stop posting and people start PM'ing me asking me to post again because it riles up the board I guess.

My comment on Jake's first game was that pass to Lelie on the sideline that the DB narrowly missed is the same one that gave Cards fans ulcers for 6 years. I'm betting at least 5 or 6 of those were returned for TD's in his career here and he's still throwing it without looking away before he lets it go.

The Freak board is by far my favorite of the Bronco boards, the signal to noise ratio is much better there than on the other ones.

There are 3-4 people there like Dreizehn, Rolling thunder, Da Fan etc who I think are really pretty fun to give and take with. Then there's those guys that keep telling you you're on ignore, over and over, as if somehow they keep seeing your posts while being on ignore. If you want to ignore me put me on ignore, don't just say you did.

He ends EVERY post with that! How irritating can you get. You or Russ should challenge him to a spelling bee, he has attrocious spelling and punctuation.

He's sucked enough IQ out of my skull as it is, so I'm all set.

Spider's game is to outlast you. once you prove you know what your talking about and he doesn't, he just tries to keep posting nonsense until you get tired and stop. he then declares himself the winner. If you note he'll respond to the same post 3-4 times in 2 minutes, I guess it's how his "brain" works.

S 11 and I had a great give and take with him before I went on vacation I gave him multiple chances to look something up to prove he wasn't making it up and he still wound up claiming he'd seen us running the WCO in a game he clearly hadn't seen since he was talking about Sanders(didn't play) and Boston(didn't play) in the game he cited.

Not to mention I've yet to see a game on tv where I could actually "see" the routes WR's are running well enough to make the claims he was making.

His first proof was pulling out some graphic from 1998 of the Cards WCO, that was his proof we ran the WCO LAST year!

Come on, guys. I thought this was funny. Can we not turn this into a "talking about the Broncos board" thread and comment on Joe Theisman's take on our offense for a while?

We might go 3-4 (maybe 2-5) against those teams. Nothing funny about that. :D

It was pretty good. Nice delivery. Great timing. Excellent use of a former player prone to making boneheaded comments (Norman Einstein). I also particularly enjoyed the Florida schools running the option reference.

Was the statement a joke or was it something Theisman actually said; which then makes Thiesman the joke.

Either way it's funny! :p

Well, Joe was just wandering around the office (he has a burning interest in the concrete industry) and saw the board, and wanted to put his two cents in.

Yeah I watched pretty much the whole thing go down. He has a uniqe style that's for sure. Like a 6 year old caught stealing cookies, he will never admit he was wrong.

I'll take a yard - just deliver it to my ex-neighbors front lawn.

Just put it behind his Blazer. He said he'll muck it to his back yard.

BTW - Epoxy-coated Rebar Saleswomen are hotties.
