God please no , out of all the pg free agents that are realistic for the sun's he is by far the worst

I'm not a Rubio fan by any means, I've been one of the more vocal detractors here, but if he's available as an inexpensive free agent I might give him a try. I doubt that's the case though, someone will talk themselves into overpaying for him - sure hope that's not us.

The names I now keep hearing now, depending on cost, are Collison and Beverly. I would be okay with either, and Collison is actually my #1 choice among what I believe to be our realistic options.

After two seasons without a point guard Rubio in a Suns uniform doesn't sound bad for the right price.
If he was free sure , he can't score and I'm tired of seeing the sun's point guards combine for 3-20 shooting , he'd be nothing but another waste of a free agent that's overpaid, think ariza or chandler but a PG, no thanks !

Per usual we are way overvaluing our assets.

Yeah no kidding.

If I’m the lakers I laugh at the 6 for Ingram or kuzma by themselves.

It is questionable if it is enough for Lonzo, and for me if it is a no.

The only case for Rubio is if he comes as a cheap stop gap starter if we draft Garland or White at 6.
But even then I would have to question that the worst 3pt-shooting team in the NBA is spending money on Ricky Rubio.

Lets see

Rubio Pros
- he can pass
- he can shoot freethrows
- decent defender

Rubio Contras
- he is passive
- he can't shoot off the dribble
- does not attack the rim or get to the line
- not much of a creator in the half court

I never liked the idea of potentially stretching him. All that matters is he’s better than Ryan Anderson.

I think Tyler Johnson has value to the Suns. If they do not need to use him in a trade, they need to keep him. He had a 3.86 assist to turnover ratio.

Monty Williams on Arizona Sports (98.7) podcast:

“I’m really excited about Tyler,” Williams said Thursday. “I think Tyler’s a guy who has been in a winning program and he brings intangibles to the team that really excite me.”

Ok that is really unexpected.

That suggests to me they are trying to extend him. So he may very well be our PG.

So that could free up 10 million or so.

Considering how hard it probably is to dump his salary that may not be a bad idea.

I really don’t think collison is much better than him if we could even get him.

I really hadn't thought about it. It makes a lot of sense.

And set us up to win 15-20 games maximum for the next 5 years, and set us up to have Booker and Ayton ask out by this time next year.

My opinion of Monty just plummeted.

Isn't this the bottom line of why we need a PG?

No. Please, God, no.

We should probably get used to the fact that Tyler is our starting PG with Coby White backing him up next year. I don’t see the Suns making any big moves which is anti-climatic but realistic.

And franchise suicide.

I huess I grew up with guys like Bibby, Magic Johnson, etc, and they came in and started, at least mid way through the season they were the starting PGs. It's not impossinle Cony White could be a starting PG his rookie year. I admit, I think the sample size we saw of Tyler Johnson wasn't that big. I am "hoping" he improves a little bit.

Cant kill a franchise that's already been dead for 8 years

I'd say it's been more on life support. Starting the season with Devin Booker and Tyler Johnson as the starting backcourt would be akin to pulling the plug.

Then why are you here posting? Now, I am not saying you should not be here posting. I am saying your statement is not accurate or you would not be here.
