Looked good, now after the league gets tape on him? Let's see.

As for the future, the Cardinals would have to be able to re-sign him to a backup's type contract. Easier said than done.

I think he looked alright. He's good enough to be a backup in this league. I wouldn't even be mad if he had a "shot" at the starting job next year, meaning against a Tyrod Taylor-tier QB, and a draft pick.

But I unfortunately think he might have to learn an all new offense next year.

I thought he did amazing considering that he was our 3rd string QB playing his first game with the Cardinals on the road. He had a 65% completion percentage even with his WRs dropping balls left and right. I want to see more of him.
and considering...according to onsite media he was still splitting practice reps with stanton...which means he didnt have a full week of prep with the starters

"The League" has 7000+ yards of Gabbert passing on tape already.

But not in this offense. These veteran backup guys can come in and assimilate a system, but once their tape within a system comes out, they can't account for opponents' next moves.

Gabbert was a perfectly adequate checkdown artist under Jim Tomsula in the last 8 games of 2015 before reverting back to form.

In the Cardinals offense ?

I agree, but ............ you know what, you are right. Gabbert has had about 10,000 offensive coordinators, one of them probably ran something like the Cardinals.

Gabbert has all the tools, that much is clear. I want to see him play the rest of the year to see if I want him as a starter. He already gets my vote as our backup going forward. I would sign a WR off the street or trade for one because outside of Fitz they all have stone hands and can't even catch a cold. Steve Keim really needs to shake things up this offseason. We need a DC that knows what he's doing. Bettcher is terrible and we all know Amos needs a plane ticket to Siberia.

He looked good can’t take that away. If our D did not suck so bad and keep losing the lead he would have had his first win on the Cards. When your D can’t stop freaking savage your in trouble, 31 points to him geesh! This team is just flat out terribly coached and has checked out on them! Special teams as always is terrible, and why KW is still returning punts is a joke. BA loves Stanton so I expect he still will moving forward, never mind that Gabbert looks light years better.

Dude. Get over yourself. Gabbert had those first half scoring chances handed to him by the defense with possessions beginning inside the red zone. After the first possession of the game, Gabbert moved the offense across the 50 once, and then turned the ball over on the next play.

Gabbert did extremely, extremely well. Way better than that other guy that know the system. Give him more time with the 1's and lets see what we got.

Gabbert played well, he padded his stats, and he is better than Stanton. Said that, I'm not sold on him. I think he should have his fair chance now, because he played well and he is better than Stanton, but Stanton is a backup QB and so Gabbert is a better Backup QB than Stanton, and maybe even many others, but Tom Savage looked like a starter out there, so the question remains, what is Gabbert capable to do against the Jaguars ... I think he has to show everything because the Jaguars at the moment have a better D than the Texans.

On another note ... BA called back that going on 4 and 1 was a bad call and the players lost the game ...

BA has to go, you can't go for it on your own 35 with 6 minutes 33 seconds and all TO remaining ... thats ... incredible.

I look at how bad we were on our 3rd down conversion offense, and I just don't see it.

have 2 failed runs (go AP ! go O-line !) and then pass
... now repeat.. now repeat again ... now repeat again

Texans defense KNEW a pass was coming ....
EVERYBODY knew a pass was coming ...
Texans KNEW they could blow up our O-line and force quick, short passes underneath ...

not a recipe for success

The tape on him? There was no game plan utilizing his strengths.

Stop with the logical reasoning. Just hate on him and fall in line.

If i were Gabbert there is no way I would come back to Arizona as a backup. He will have much better options. Even Jimmy Johnson on FOX was touting his talent. There is no question in my mind that he has the best arm and quickest release of the 3 QBs. Probably the most accurate, as well. And, he's by far the most mobile. What he needs is a coach who is willing to stick with him as a starter. He's got to get out of the bad habit of throwing under the sticks on 3rd down. But, with the right coaching and in a system that he doesn't have to re-learn every year, this can be corrected.

No way in hell is he the most accurate.

Yeah that’s on Gabbert...give me a break the guy is starting his first game in the offense. Yeah it’s on him the ******** receivers can’t catch, and he has zero run game, and piss poor play calling. What are you watching? Seriously if you can’t see that he has the tools and looked very good until the defense continues to crap the bed putting us in a hole. Then BA goes into stupid playcalling mode all over again. Whatever some people just hate on the guy it’s ridiculous! Real quick go ahead and name some Cards QBs that looked better than BG did in their first start? The guy has the tools he needs an opportunity and some quality coaching which he has NEVER had with any consistency!

Last week the receivers couldn't catch because it was the way Stanton threw the ball. Now this week it's the stupid receivers?
