Stop with the logical reasoning. Just hate on him and fall in line.

If you mean hate on BA .... I've been there for ahwile... he is as toasty as Honey Badger... it happens, people keep going but their ability/competence has been left behind....

if you thought I was dissing Gabbert, you need to re-read that and think about what it says...

Lets get realistic. What are our choices at this stage? We can continue with Drew Stanton that most people don't like. We can start the local rookie on the practice squad, We can start Barkley that people here don't like or we can start Gabbert and see what he can do while judging him in the context of a bad offensive line, a bad play caller and with Fitz and possibly Seals as exceptions, bad receivers.

At least Gabbert is younger and much more talented than Drew Stanton. Looked really good out there. I'd rather give Gabbert decent backup QB money than Stanton. Gabbert at least has an outside shot to become an average starting QB for us while we keep searching a true franchise QB.

were you watching at all ?

Last Thursday when the receivers were dropping the ball some on here were blaming it on the way Stanton throws the ball that it wasn't the receivers fault. This week when they have the drops is the receivers fault. Which is it? My contention is the receivers sucked both games. It had nothing to do with the way Stanton threw the ball.

Would like to see the coaches take advantage of BG's mobility by running some bootlegs, waggles, designed QB draws and read options.

We need a miracle to get a capable young QB Mitch. The position is so hard to gauge even if you have the first pick in the draft. Be it Gabbert by divine intervention turning his career around or the Cards finding the QB in the draft :)

Gabbert: good enough to keep you in games and give you hope. Not good enough to win a game when its all on him.

Heard from a people that Gabberts rep is that he likes to throw 5 yard passes on 3rd and 10. We saw exactly that on sunday too many times

There was someone on the board that posted last week and they said even when he plays well, he has a knack of making a big mistake at just the wrong moment to hurt his team.

That first interception was a bad throw. He threw it behind Golden. If he leads him, Golden has a chance to catch it.

have 2 failed runs (go AP ! go O-line !) and then pass
... now repeat.. now repeat again ... now repeat again

Texans defense KNEW a pass was coming ....
EVERYBODY knew a pass was coming ...
Texans KNEW they could blow up our O-line and force quick, short passes underneath ...

not a recipe for success
OK...so, he is a backup...because those are the issues that backup players have. If you don't put them in ideal situations, they fail more than they succeed.

I fail to understand what folks are arguing about Gabbert. He was a backup heading into the game. He looked like a backup during the game. He should still be considered a backup level player. Where is the disagreement?
