I really can't believe anybody is picking Warren. He's a nice scorer around the basket, but his defense is lacking and he has absolutely no range.

When Bledsoe gets more consistent with his jumpshot he is pretty much an allstar bordering on potential super star.

That is why he has the most potential by far.

Booker does not have the athleticism. Yeah nice looking shot but inconsistent and what else does he do well?
Some people claim he has a high bball iq? Based on what? He took quiet a lot of poor shots with a defender in his face, does not seem particularly smart.

His defense is worrisome but plenty of players have improved their 3pt shot after entering the league. He just need to stop avoiding the 3pt shot and start shooting it.

I don't see any problem with Booker's athleticism. He is fast, he gets to the rim, he is quick. I also don't see anything that inconsistent about his shot, although the sample size is small.

His jump shot isn't the only thing keeping Bledsoe from "all star, borderline superstar".

He's still wildly inconsistent and most importantly, his decision making absolutely sucks. One of the worst assist/turnover ratio in the NBA last season out of starting PGs.

I think Bledsoe is really undervalued by many here. Give a consistent roster and players that can actually shoot and his assist to turnover ratio will be fine. He doesn't have an unusually high number of turnovers for a pg-similar to Nash actually. It's just the assist numbers are low. But they will be low when you are passing to the Morris brothers, Green, Wright and company.

Warren. He's got offensive instincts that can't be taught. Shooting can be improved. Majerle, Ceballos and Finley come to mind as former Suns who relied on athleticism early on in their careers that later became weapons from the perimeter. He'll need coaching obviously.

If that is his ceiling than Warren certainly does not have higher upside than Bledsoe.

Bledsoe's court vision may improve, but as of last season it is below average for a starting NBA point guard. That doesn't have anything to do with the quality of shooter that he's passing to.

I lurk often, and post rarely on this forum.

I went with Bledsoe, because he is closer to his upside than the rest and more proven. He is a borderline all star already, but the rest of the lot (outside of Knight) haven't proven too much or have serious warts (Len's health) that may preclude them from ever being very good players.

Please post on the Suns forum more often.

I thought for awhile the Suns traded for Knight so they could use Bledsoe as a trade chip to obtain a quality big man. Now it seems like I was wrong (at least for now) as Bledsoe and the Suns seem committed to making the two PG offense work. However, the true test will come after this season or before the trade deadline. Devin Booker should continue to develop and Bogdan Bogdanovic should come over next season so starting a SG should become more attractive.

I read a study somewhere that the average NBA player (there are a few exceptions) reaches his potential right around his 5th year after entering the NBA. This is purely statistically speaking ofcourse. Bledsoe is a very good player but I am just not convinced he is going to get much better. Who knows this could be his year where he takes it to the next level but if he doesn't, he probably never will IMO.

That's the reason I didn't pick him where someone like Booker is an unknown. Len could get better, Warren could get better. Knight could outplay Bledsoe for all we know. It's just I remember seeing guys like Amare when they first came in and you just knew there was a higher ceiling. Len or Warren? I just don't know. I think we will have a better idea this season.

I don't think TJ is going to reach anything close to his potential on this team. Jeff's only two 'plays' are isolation and pick&pop/roll and neither of those are plays he's good at. His only opportunities will be on the fast break and those are very limited when you're sitting on the bench. Where he'd shine is on a team which features lots of ball and player movement - like the Spurs.

I agree. Bledsoe is currently far from being an all-star. He's just not a playmaker, not a leader, and he can't take over a game. The other guys have fewer years in the league so hopefully Len or Booker can turn out better than Bledsoe. Archie is still so young and he has elite skills where the other does not but he needs to take steps.

Hasn't he already taken over a number of games. I remember one in particular against OKC.

This just seems to be such an--understatement of Bledsoe's value. And I voted for Booker.

I'm not sure what "elite skill" Archie possess that Bledsoe does not. Archie is good at one thing, barreling into the lane, and Bledsoe certainly is as good as he is at that, and he is better at literally every aspect beyond.

I voted for Brandon Knight who is still age 23. He has as much upside as anyone on the Suns roster. It's easy to see how fans have fallen in love with Devin Booker's upside but Knight needed a vote in this poll as well.
At this time, I, too, voted for Brandon Knight. If he doesn't have to play in Bledsoe's shadow.

I think his potential skills at the Point and as team leader outweigh those of Bledsoe.

As long as we have the two of them, why not name Knight the PG and Bledsoe the 2-Guard? Period! If Bledsoe can't fulfill the Shooting Guard role and slide to the Point periodically, why keep him?

That seems to be the most logical approach to the 2-lead Point Guard staffing.

Because Knight has already shown an ability to shoot from the outside and play off the ball.

People are too obsessed with "PG or SG". Its 2 guys who can handle the ball and run the offense. Most teams have that in some form or another.

Yup. Harden and Westbrook was a combo guard combo that should have never been broken up.

BC867, I think the Suns want two ballhandlers on the court no matter what the label. It is the way Hornacek wants the ball distributed to put pressure on the defense from both sides of the court. Putting a label on them sort of takes away from the idea. However, the idea will likely be put to a test next season when both Devin Booker and Bogdan Bogdanovic are available to play SG and I'm not even putting Archie Goodwin into the equation.

Shannon Brown had one game against the Lakers when he took over as well. Gerald Green had many games where he took over last 2 seasons. Heck even Michael Beasley probably had few games where he took over.

I'm not sure a handful of games really mean that he could do it night in and night out or if he can even do it HALF the time.

And yes I remember the game your mentioning, he had a triple double or close to it that game iirc.

I think Archie has potential. He does have elite quickness and he's excellent at drawing contact something the commentators in SL mentioned plenty as a reason to why they think he will eventually be good.

Right now, I think he just needs to play a little more in control and slow the game down some. Continuing to improving on his jumper and not gambling on defense or losing focus defensively should do him plenty good as well going forward. As for Bledsoe, agreed.

They have Sonny Weems as well.

As I posted it, I thought about it but I knew someone would bring it up. :)

Actually Weems should be able to play some 2-3. Also I understand he knows how to handle the ball some.
