Am I safe in assuming you haven't seen that many movies? I'm being serious. TDK was good but it wasn't that good. Bale talking without breathing through his nose made his whole performance as Batman annoying.

I can see why it is DCR's best. However I do concur with you that Bales portrayal of Batman sucks. He is the main character in the movie and you cant even understand what hes saying have the time. Its a complete joke.

Braveheart is my number 1.

Hero's in love
They kill his girl
He fights for revenge
And dies for a very noble cause still wishing he had his girl back..

Major violence
Great love story
Some hot women. Moddle ages hot no less.
Heartpounding ending.

Best. Movie. Ever

I love the Moddle ages as much as anyone but Godfather Part 2 still gets my vote for greatest movie ever. And as for pure entertainment value, I'd have to put the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie at the top of that list - despite the fact that it was one of the weakest excuses for a bad guy I've ever seen.

Yea it's an issue when you can't understand batman himself.., agree still a great movie but that was just plain bad and not as good as it could have been because of it.

I understood him. Ledger was so awesome, who cares :). I agree prettymuch with ya.

Maggie Gyllenhall was a worse problem.

Yeah, the first post clearly asks what 2011 movies were most impressive, and then people start going on about The Dark Knight (2008) and Braveheart (1995). Sheesh!

Really? Where? I can see how someone might infer from his post that he was only interested in recent movies but I can't find where he actually said such a thing. How about when the OP mentioned a movie from 2010 and then, without qualifiers asked us to recommend any other movies.

Most of movies awarded are quite abstruse and boring but I often get to see those movies first whenever I go to a theater. Yesterday, I heard the news CNN selected the 10 best movies in 2011 and searched for the list and listed 5 worst movies too. lollol Your highness is listed in worst 5 movies. Have you ever seen it? lollol I totally couldn't understand why the director made this movie that made all of the characters look morons.

Seems clear to me that he's asking about this year's movies. Nowhere does it say anything about the best movies of all time.

That's probably why you didn't respond the same way some of us did. I would just suggest it wasn't "clear" to us. His closing line was:
I think scenario is the base of all movies and the most important factor to make movies good or awful. I'd like to try this movie, Do you have any other movies to recommend?

Dang it Mulli, why oh WHY did you have to bring her up? I was happily remembering how much I liked that movie and had apparently blocked her completely out of my memory as some sort of coping mechanism....now I'm all agitated again at her being cast in that role.

Not too many, only a few thousand. I used to work in a movie theater and my own personal DVD collection is over 1000.

I think the posts here articulate why I like the movie so much. People need to find a reason to complain about these movies so they harp on Bale's voice. Like Mulli said, Maggie Gyllenhall was the worst part of this movie. Might have been perfect if they stuck with Katie Holmes. (awesome even typing that)

My second favorite movie is Seven Samurai. A movie that very few have seen if you aren't into movies........

my dad is huge on seven samurai.

I need to attempt TDK again, i passed out 30 mins into it due to the long boring diologue and lame ass voice bale used in the movie.

TDK is in my top 5 or 10. Love it. But Braveheart had more violence, better humor, a better story arc (that didn't set up a sequel), and just the right amount of hot female nudity.

As far as this year....I didn't see a ton of movies in the theater.

Of the ones I did see, Drive was the best. Pretty intense flick. And I loved the soundtrack.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is prolly #2 for me.
