If we got a top 3 pick, I would keep it and package Dragic and picks for Love. Then you have your Big Three: Love, Bledsoe, and Wiggins/Parker etc.

Why would the wolves give up on rubio already?

Why is everyone so eager to trade Dragic? :bang:

OK, chill.

I am not eager to trade Dragic. I am very content to keep him. Its just that if I have to trade Dragic or Bledsoe, I trade Dragic because he can opt out in the summer of 2015 and we could lose him for nothing. His trade value will go down over the next year because of that. We control Bledsoe longer. Also, you have to give up something to get something. No one wanted to trade Horny when we got Barkley. If you want a good player, you usually have to give up a good player.

Just a guess of course, but I'm guessing PG and C are not that interesting to the T-Wolves. They need a PF and SF starter. That's why I lean toward GS as having the edge in trade scenarios, but who knows what they are thinking? My guess is they wait till the deadline unless they get offered a top 5-6 pick and at least one quality starting vet, maybe two.

Also, yes Love can just wait until he's a free agent, but if he's seriously interested in joining a contender he will be limited to who has the cap room. Quality teams most often do not.

I want Love but only if we keep Dragic and Bledsoe. He's the perfect four for that pair. Take either guard out of the picture and I'd prefer a search for a more traditional power forward, especially one that can defend the position. I don't understand why anyone would throw Dragic's name into the trade bin. Yes, he can opt out but he's made it very clear he's happy in Phoenix. I see no reason to part with a budding star that actually wants to play here.

I have no idea, its just "out there" that Minny wants either Bledsoe or Dragic in any Love deal.

So why give them the Most Improved Player who really should have been an All Star, who chose to come back to phoenix, and actually wants to be here? Why not give them a walking injury waiting to happen who doesn't appear to have any attachment to the Suns organization or the city of Phoenix instead?

Love affair this board has with Bledsoe is something I will never understand.

That's the key. Unlike Bledsoe, Dragic has made it abundantly clear that he loves it here. I believe he'll be amenable to a deal that is good for both sides. Kind of like what Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili have done for the Spurs. You don't just throw that away.

The Suns can't trade Bledsoe this summer. He's a restricted free agent.

Curious. And I am not saying this because I am advocating trading either Dragic or Bledsoe. Aren't most championship trios constructed of a guard, a wing and a big?

Wade, James, Bosh
Parker, Ginobili, Duncan
Rondo/Allen, Pierce, Garnett (Ok, they had 4)

The Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, was really a wing/guard and bigs.

I am just wondering out loud if two pg's can be the basis for a championship trio. I don't think either has to go. But I do think it will take two more "big 3" type players. Its going to take a wing--(a 2 or a 3 on a star level) and a big (a 4 or 5 on star level who can protect the rim, rebound in double figures, and provide a consistent low post threat). I don't care how we get them--develop players already on the roster, draft, sign free agents, trade, etc--but we are going to have to get them. Neither Dragic or Bledsoe are big enough to fill the wing role.

Ginobili is no more of a wing than Dragic.

Odom really is not a wing.

Really in todays NBA it is more or less perimeter players and inside players. Shooting Guards and Small Forwards are often interchangeable.

Sullinger and #6 looks weak as hell too.

Hopefully Love just does not want to go to Cleveland. They could offer Waiters, Thompson, Benett and picks and still have

Irving, Wiggins, Deng, Love, Varejao

It wouldn't be sullinger and the 6. They would add Bradley and Brooklyns 1st next year.

Who says no to this deal?

Minny sends:

Kevin Love

Cleveland sends:
Tristan Thompson
Dion Waiters
Anthony Bennett

Is that a decent haul for Minny? I guess it depends on if you think Bennett is a bust or not and what Thompson and Waiters ceilings are, they've both gotten to a certain level and haven't made that next leap yet.

For Cleveland, building around Kyrie and Love (imagine the Uncle Drew commercials!) and the #1 pick in this draft would be incredible. Take Wiggins #1 overall, try to coach up his 3 point shooting ability. Then try to lure LeBron.

If I was Minnesota, I would hang up on that offer. Bennett has shown nothing but bust so far, Waiters has talent but is a locker room disruption, Thompson is OK, but nothing compared to love. Now if Cleveland throws in the #1 pick, it would be a discussion.

If Cleveland throws in the #1 pick its a slam dunk for Minny, but then the Cavs would be completely cannibalizing themselves.

Perception is a big thing for owners to be able to sell their fans. With a trade like that the Wolves ownership could say "hey we lost Love but we got 3 top 5 picks!" which I guess is something. I'm not sure I'd do it either if I were the, but its an idea.

It could also be the #1 and any combo of the other 2 guys. Obviously Cleveland would most likely want it to be Bennett and Thompson, as they've shown less than Waiters.

Fans are smarter than to buy that, and Minny can get better than that from Boston or Phoenix. The #1 in the mix opens doors.

Love is a 26 and 12 player. There is a good chance that NO ONE in this draft will ever put up those numbers. The Elephant in the room is that Love wants to go somewhere where he can win. He is now saying that he is not dictating a list of franchises, but would like to have a chance for the playoffs. I guess he just does not see that in Minny. I can't see how it would work in Cleveland either.

Not really. It depends on whether other teams will offer more, which they surely will.

Such as? Can the Suns offer more? I'd be fine if the Suns offered all of this years picks, but I don't think thats more. Even if they throw in LAs next years pick, thats maybe not more.

Im not saying its a great deal, and if Love dislikes Minneapolis, Cleveland doesn't seem like a great destination either. Though it would move him to the weaker East where he'd have a hard time missing the playoffs.

Extended Bledsoe (or S&T), their own pick, Washington's pick, Indiana's pick, Morris twins. Any combination of that should be fine.

Dragic, and the Laker's pick are untouchable, and I'd be hesitant to trade our own pick this year (I am pretty sure Harris or Young will be available.) Outside of that, anyone is fair game.

I don't think Tristan Thompson is better than Markieff Morris.
Anthony Bennett is a complete bust.

Not sure I would give up #14 for Waiters. He has some talent but he does not put it together.

That is not how sign and trades work and the deal is terrible for the Suns. It would basically turn us into another version of the current Timberwolves.

I also don't get your logic of trading Bledsoe but declaring that the near 30 and soon to be UFA Dragic is untouchable.

Bledsoe had just as much impact as Dragic for this team, maybe more, is younger and play both ends of the floor.
