Remember the real leather converse Dr. J hi-tops that had to be broken in by wearing them around for a week or so before you could play a game in them?
We called them Dr's or "Doctas"
These things were like indestructable light-weight boots after they were too ugly to wear on the basketball court. Used mine for everything including hunting, hiking, camping and riding my dirt bike until I wore a hole in the that cool patterned rubber sole.

I'd rather have Sean Singletary back actually.

Hope Coach Porter will give Dragic some playing time again soon. He needs to see the court on a regular basis - and hit the weights and have shooting practice with Thunder Dan.

I only saw Dee a few times last season. From what I can tell, he seems to be a "Rondo Type" guy whi is very fast and as yet not much of a shooter. In limited minutes this season, his ratio is 2.34 assists to turnovers which is marginally better than Nash this season.

A key is that he has a reputation for playing pressure defense.

DeMarcus Nelson was waived by the warriors today. Rookie PG from Duke. At least coming from Duke he's got a good background. couldn't hurt to give him a shot, could it?

Dont want another rookie, so far they have been a huge bust this year for the suns. With dragic getting "pargo money" and lopez watching rebounds careen to the opposition, Im gonna barf if they get another rookie.

You're sounding like DA. :D

The Suns scouting department must be really bad these days. Tucker, Dragic and Lopez are not shining examples of our draft process.

I'd hire the Portland scout(s) to a second job and select the second best player on their draft list.

He could be signed to a non-guaranteed contract like what Dee is getting.

I'm a big Duke fan so i know a little about Nelson. He's a good defender with good size for a PG at about 6'3/200 lbs. He isn't a good shooter, but in college he was a pretty decent slasher. I haven't paid any attention to him since he's gotten to the nba, however.

maybe when your talent evaluation sucks, you need to depend less on rookies. think about it, they drafted dragic and lopez to help this year. If that was the intent, they must have the worst scouts in the NBA. how many players like chalmers, magee, speights, rudy fernandez, etc will the suns pass up to draft their "2nd best PG in the draft" dragic, and "ready right now for defense in the NBA" lopez! LOL!

This is exactly the point I was trying to drive home.

Fred Jones was waived by the Clippers. After reading a poster elsewhere I understand he may have gotten injured right after he arrived there. Anyway, if healthy (although a tweener), he might serve as a better backup PG than Dee Brown. At least Jones used to be extremely athletic. I always liked him since coming out of college. Just a thought.

I'd take Pargo instead. :)

Will the Suns ever start playing basketball again? It seems like forever since the last game. I'm tired of scanning waiver wires and reading trade rumors.

It's a weird schedule, we had a very tough first month, then a very very loose Xmas and new year period. Next game is tomorrow, we host Indiana.

Did someone mention Shaun Livingston was released? He is a serviceable backup PG IMO. We should go after him.

I wish Fred Jones was more of a point guard, he went off on us a couple games ago when we beat the Clippers. I wonder why they waived him?

Livingston played in only 4 games this season with the last being Dec 6. His shooting is not there, but at least he had no turnovers in the last two games.
