Fine... Point taken.

Stop being a jerk about it though. Aren't you wasting more time just by posting?

Do not disrespect the work he puts into the posts. Disagree if you must, but the amount of work he puts into it should be respected.

I enjoy 95% of what Mitch says and does, but his Leinart hate is getting repetitive and is quite frankly done in vain. I think if someone who hasn't been around here long kept beating that horse, they would be jumped on. Its not personal, I just can't stand reading it anymore, and felt like saying it. Haven't posted any other attacking posts, so I think one is plenty and ok.

I consider Leinart and Campbell to be equal crap shoots

This.

Sorry but the rest of this thread is idle chatter. I don't know how anyone can point to one guy or the other and say they are a definitely going to be a better player.

But at least Leinart has the excuse(and benefit?) of being a question mark because he was behind an eventual Hall of Famer.

or just starting 17 games in 4 seasons.

Odds are he isn't the answer, but he needs to be given a full season to find out because this team has paid a lot of $$$ to the kid.

I can already tell its going to be a long season. If Leinart even has an average game we are gonna get long winded topics about how he just isn't good enough. Its started already and he hasn't even thrown a pass...some people aren't even going to give the guy a chance and that is unfortunate, you know if it happens here it will happen in the stadium as the boo's rain down on him for a mistake.

Yeah I'm starting to agree. I read what Mitch has to write (sometimes) because he brings out other opinions and sets up good discussions because a lot of people disagree with what he says. Exactly what a forum should be. But the Leinart hate is getting old. How you can look at Campbell or Thigpen I think it was and say they would be better suited for an offense they have never played in vs a QB who was AMAZING in college and sat behind a HOF learning a new offense is ********. There is no logical reason to NOT give Matt Leinart a shot after all we have paid him. With that being said, all of Mitch's post against Leinart are almost just hate posts. Any new member coming in here would be trolled out with all those posts and everybody knows it.

I like the idea that you are thinking out of the box on this Mitch. For those complainers, give us a break, it's the offseason if you don't like the topic skip the post. It's tough to talk Cardinal football with no games for another 6 months.

I like Campbell and feel he could do well with our receivers versus the mediocre corp in Washington. I think he would do well in this stable environment. I prefer a trade or other picks than our number one. I was a big Leinart supporter but feel he failed miserably when in for Warner this year. However, I don't want to debate Leinart in this thread.

I'll do the Boldin for Campbell trade that you proposed. Sign me up. Let them (Leinart & Campbell) compete for the job and may the best man win. We know that Whisenhunt would be objective.

We definately need a QB.

The ? is should it be a veteran free agent....a veteran acquired through a trade....or a drafted rookie.

I like the veteran free agent route if it's Pennington or Carr....no others offer much.

The trade route would probably cost us too much.

The draft QB's that intrigue me are LeFevour of Central Michigan and Pike of Cincy.....but are they better than Carr or Pennington?

Jason Campbell? No thanks. I'd rather keep Boldin and make him second string QB/WR. Which is completely stupid. I guess I really don't like Campbell. Never realized exactly how much I didn't like him until you forced me to contemplate him wearing our colors on our field.

Thanks Mitch!

Let's be honest. Leinart is about on par with Campbell right now.

Let's be honest, Leinart will be the starting QB for the Cards in 2010. The thought of the Cards throwing away their #26 pick for a QB especially Jason Campbell is ridiculous when considering this team is going to most likely lose at least 4 starters on the defense. I understand some in here don't like Leinart and are scared to see him succeed, but let's be realistic here. This is not Madden on the playstation, this is big boy NFL.

I wasn't hating on Leinart, just stating that Campbell wouldn't be any better than what we saw from Leinart vs Tennessee. :)

Spend our # 1 on a QB that struggles and whose current team is not sold on? With all we need on D and a starting QB already named why would this even be considered. Just hard to rationalize it even being an option.

Are you implying that's the best Leinart can do? I think Leinart can be a special QB for this team. I'm not saying Warner special, but he has all the tools in place to keep the Cards momentum going. He won't be asked to do a lot this year IMO, ca finally prepare for a game as a starter and will have 2 1/2 years of watching KW doing his thing under his belt. A lot of people seem to forget about his promising rookie year.

I can't wait to see what tomorrow's thread will bring. Use the 26 pick on Tim
Tebow and trade away their second and third round picks for Dan Orlovsky, because the glaring hole on this team is at the QB position.

I stopped reading at "I wouldnt want either of them as a backup". Sometimes....ok alot of the times I think you go overboard when trying to prove a point.

No, you are reading me all wrong. All I'm just saying is that Campbell wouldn't be a better option than Leinart.

March on an NFL message board. Oh boy.

Wait until August and he has a below average preseason game.

I repeat it is going to be a LONG season. Leinart is going to generate more venom than any Cardinal in recent memory the minute he makes any mistakes.

Heck we could lose a game 31-24 and the blame will go on Leinart because he threw for 2 TDs rather than 3.

Leinart could go 23/24 4 TDs and 0 INTs and someone will exclaim, "that one incompletion would have been completed by Warner"

Here are some random thoughts on this.

1. Isn't it nice to see the Cards with some kind of game plan? In years past we would have invited 3 undrafted rookies to compete for the back up job.

2. Lienart held his own against the Titans in a hostel environment when the Titans were playing their best football of the season. He hit clutch passes, didn't turn the ball over and did exactly what was asked of him. He drove us down in the 4th quarter and got us the lead. Why do people think that is just totally out of the question that Matt Leinart can be an NFL QB?

3. Those who scoff at Jason Campbell, take a look at his stats. He has gotten better every year. He is big. He has the ability to run and has played for what seems to be a dozen different coaches and co-ordinators. Joe Gibbs drafted this kid and he was a pretty good evaluator of qb talent. I think Campell , in this offense and these receivers could and would be more than adequate. Not comparative to Warner, ( but who is?) however, in the type of team Whiz envisions he could be a perfect fit.

4. David Carr. Well, he has to be better than BSP. He is capable of being better than he has been and at times has been very good. That being said, I think Leinart would have to get injured or fall COMPLETELY on is face for Carr to become the starter, which obviously many think is a given.

5. Bottom line it doesn't matter who our qb is if this defense doesn't get better and get better fast. Warner and the high flying circus act is gone forever. That's not to say we won't score points. But if this offense can play a bit more ball control while scoring 20 to 24 pts. a game, an improved defense would make this stand up. However, it will be a long season if we have a 10 play 8 minute drive only to see the defense give up a 5 play 2 minute drive.

EXACTLY, which is why I do not understand wanting to use the first round pick on a QB. It is completely assinine. The past week in here I have seen the Cards should use the 26th pick on Tebow who will make an awful NFL QB IMO, Snead who is AT BEST a late third round pick, McCoy who I also have doubts about, and now Jason Campbell. Meanwhile, the Cards should ignore the loss of Berry and the inevitable losses of Chike, Rolle and Dansby. Then turn a blind eye to the 90 points given up in two playoff games as well as the big drives at inoppertune times this defense has given up. I just don't get it.
