I am convinced that this guy actually thinks he is the smartest coach in the league. I am not going to spend a lot of time listing his faults as I think it has been hashed out in numerous threads, but I think the thing that really dawned on me is that he really thinks he is going to outsmart NFL caliber coaches week after week.

Example 1. He continually drafts lame ass small school try hard guys thinking that he is some sort of QB guru who can get these guys to OVERPERFORM. Has he ever hand picked a top tier guy? Say what you want about Leinart, he was not given as much rope as these other guys have been. I for one am glad Leinart is gone, but it was clear from day one that Whiz did not like the guy and gave him no chance to succeed.

It bugged Whiz that Warner was the best option. He played mind games with the QB position so much that Warner retired instead of coming back to a team that was poised to compete for a championship.

Everyone has faults. I'm glad we've had Whiz, but unless he realizes his... he will be fired.

John Skelton was a small school guy for a reason. He is NOT ready for the big boy leagues.

And how did YOU come to this conclusion? Have you interviewed him? Are you his psychologist? You have too much time on your hands fella.

Warner didn't retire because of Whisenhunt. How did you come to the conclusion that it bugged Whiz that Warner was an excellent QB. That makes no sense.

I'm sure Leinart dug his own grave by not working hard or putting in the time. I don't know you can say Whiz never gave him a chance when he twice named Leinart the starter only to see Leinart not seize the oppurtunity.

What big school, big name, top tier QB did you want Whiz to draft that he passed over? Because I don't ever remeber any being available when the Cards drafted.

I like a coach that thinks he's the best and smartest.

I looked it up and here are the next QB's off the board after the Cards pick during the Whisenhunt years.

2012-Brandon Weeden
2011-Jake Locker, Peterson was the no brainer choice for the Cards.
2010-Jimmy Clausen
2009-Pat White
2008-Joe Flacco: small school guy
2007-Brady Quinn

I think Whiz/Cards made the right choice in not taking the next selected QB every year.

So you are glad Leinart is gone. Does that mean you don't think he would have succeeded if Whiz had "given him a chance to succeed?" This does not make sense to me.

NOTE: Whiz gave Leinart plenty of chances to succeed as did the Texans.

Of course we like a coach that thinks he's the best and smartest... all admirable characteristics. The problem is you are what you are. He was brought in because he was supposedly a QB or offensive guru. That WAS his MO. That is what we were sold. We are still at BEST mediocre on offense. Borderline bad. Realistically one of the worst offenses in modern history.

Only by the miracle that Kurt Warner's turnaround was were we able to even be competent enough to make a run for the SuperBowl.

Whiz yanked more chains than a stripper at a ***** house. Look at his track record.

Any guy that can draft or sign Max Hall, John Skelton, Derek Anderson, and trade for Kevin Kolb, blah blah blah clearly wants to make the QB position their own little pet project. It will be his downfall. He has a terrible eye for Qb's

This is what I can agree with here. Whiz will not be the first decent HC who goes down in flames for failing to develop a QB.

Example: John Fox in Carolina.

Leinart clearly lacks heart and mental toughness. Otherwise he would be succeeding somewhere else. I am fine with him being gone. He is not without talent. So Whiz lacked faith in him. Cool. My problem is that ok... Leinart didn't work... so you completely abandon big boy school QB's and draft guys from Fordham, BYU and San Diego St and get mad when they do exactly what their scouting report says they would do?

He benched Skelton because he can't see the field and is inaccurate! Isn't this the same thing we saw 2 or 3 years ago? I would love to see his scouting report. I really won't waste time looking it up because I can see with my own eyes. HE SUCKS...but we already knew that!

What QB did you want him to bring here?

There haven't been any really available that are worth much. They tried with Manning but he wasn't leaving the AFC. You can argue Kolb, or should I say a Kolb-level QB, is the best that's been available and they acquired him. He hasn't worked out all that great because of injuries but it's not like Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, or the like, have been out there for the Cards to acquire.

This issue goes back so much farther than the Whisenhunt era.

I think we have drafted one NFL caliber QB in the last 2-3 decades, and injuries cut his career short (Lomax)

It's very telling of this franchise, that the best QB to ever play for them, was an aging vet, that they got on the cheap.

Shut up, when he was 4-0 you guys were praising him. Now that he lost 6 straight, people want to fire him. He had a bunch of key injuries, with wells coming back we don't have to be so one dementional.

Also that Jim Hart was an UDFA and Lomax a 2nd round selection as was Plummer.

As you know the Cards seem to have terrible luck in draft position and with who they had already. Whenever they have a top pick there's no QB worth taking or the few good ones go right before they select or a good QB is available right after they had selected a QB. The only year really that the Cards could have picked up a franchise QB without losing big in another area was 2005 with Aaron Rodgers.

I've already listed the situation with Flacco coming out with the Cards having Leinart and Warner on the roster. They could have taken Brees in 2001 but Brees went with the first pick of the 2nd round and the Cards were picking 3rd in the first. Would have taken some real foresight to take Brees with the 3rd pick in the draft that year. Could have tried to trade down I guess. BenR in 2004 but that would have meant not having Fitzgerald. And the 2011 class would have meant no Patrick Peterson. Would those have been worth it? That would be a good topic for debate.

Warner was not taking anyone to the Superbowl once he left the Rams. Granted he was not playing bad when Eli replaced him but Whis had something to do with Warner finding his Mojo again, regardless if it looked abrasive...it did work, and Warner became great again. Be it that Whis hired Haley (like he did Horton) or whatever. We cannot be selective just when we want to make a point Whis sucks, our current suck coach in some people's eyes is also our franchise's most winningest coach in our history :)

He's also only 4 losses away from being the losingest coach in franchise history. Only Jim Hanifan lost more games as a Cardinal HC.

Hard to believe that when CKW returns next season he will have coached the Cardinals longer than any other HC in the 82 years the franchise has been playing NFL football.

Like I said, what are YOUR credentials ? Working at the car wash doesn't qualify anyone to be a psychologist.

I didn't say my credentials. I said check the track record. I was talking about Whiz's track record. His track record is one of a very mediocre coach who plays mind games with the vets and can't find a QB to save his life. Meanwhile we as fans are left to debate who is better between Kolb, Lindley, and Skelton. Yuck.

Go ahead... tell me I don't know what I am talking about because I am not a coach. I get it. It hurts to hear the truth. No fan of this team wants to hear that their coach has flaws. No person wants to hear that about themselves. It's ok. It's human nature. My point is that it is time for him to realize it and do something about it. Stop the insanity. Stop wasting prime years of our best players while playing games with the QB position. Make a move. Screw up? Admit it and move on!

Put a "name" to what he should have done at the QB position in the past, and a "name" to what he should do in the future!!!

I understand you and most everyone else is frustrated with the coaching, but to try and make opinions as facts like the bold is absurd. Did it ever cross your mind that maybe Warner retired because at the time, he was 39 years-old, had suffered multiple injuries in his last season, and his wife encouraged him to do so? Sounds more logical (and factual) to me.

Also, please stop blaming Whiz for Leinart's transgressions. Leinart didn't succeed because Leinart was not dedicated to his craft and was not willing to compete for his job. Add to that his plethora of injuries, particularly to his collar bone. My God, this sounds like the assertion that Whiz was to blame for Lutui being fat, as if he shoved donuts and fried chicken down his throat against his will.

Come on, people. I know the situation is hard to comprehend and we're finding ourselves doubting our leadership, but stop with the absurdities.
