This is insane.

Act #1: Admitting Peterson was the #5 player on their board when we picked 5th! So Newton was rated higher???

Act 2: Adding a fumbler to a now large stable of fumbling backs and admitting you didn't know he fumbled the ball a lot!

Act 3: A non-blocking TE on a supposedly RUNNING team!

Rod Graves and his "Winner Grade" is full of crap.

Anyone think that he might be for the Eagles or Broncos?

Absolutely no excuse for this. I hope the kid does well, I really do. But, I also hope the coach and the members of the front office take their heads out of their asses before the draft resumes tomorrow.

I'm going to wait and hear the teams explanation on this, but if true, this is a pretty serious blunder.

My God. Sweet, merciful, how-much-must-you-hate-Stout-and-his-team-and-all-their-fans God! Really? Our head coach, in an attempt to justify a pick made to recover from our fumbleitis-stricken RBs, claims that the fumbleitis-stricken RB we just drafted has never fumbled?

OH MY EFFING GOD!!! SAME OLD CARDINALS DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO COVER THIS!!!

We...my God, I am aI ctually WEEPING as I type this...we have become WORSE than the 'same old Cards'. We have devolved beyond the level of ineptitude we previously dwelt at.

Oh...my...God...how much I hate these bumbling idiots we call scouts, coaches, and FO staff. I vote we fire everyone, hire the actor that played Vizzini in the Princess Bride to be our GM, dress as the character, and shout 'inconceivable' every time we lose.

I don't even know what I'm typing any more. The raping of my soul the Cards have gone about tonight has effed me up more than any amount of liquor or sleep deprivation has ever done. I am officially crushed. I demand the immediate firing of everyone from the water cooler deliveryman to the head coach. I demand that Mike Bidwill crawl from Arizona to my house wearing a hair shirt, kiss my feet, beg 1,000 times for forgiveness, and then go buy my a hoagie. I...oh God, I wish I didn't like the Cardinals.

Oh...my...effing...GOD!!! This has to be the most embarrassing, unforgivable gaffe in the history of the NFL!!!

3 lost fumbles out of 420 carries. That doesn't sound too bad to me. So he lost the ball 1% of the time.

Watch his highlight reel:

The kid doesn't look slow to me and I love how he keeps his pad level low. He has nice hands and does a good job of setting up his blocks. I think it's a pretty solid pick.

Don't hate on Whiz because he was given crappy info from the Cardinals crack scouting department. The person we should be hating on is Graves. He hired these scouts.

I think it's a good pick, and a solid back.

Huh? I don't understand that mentality. I blame ALL of them...Whis isn't remotely absolved. This guy was top 15 on their board. How much of that was because he had perfect ball security? Who makes the ultimate call? Why would they not know something so damn easy to find out? Are they REALLY relying on ESPN.com for their data? WTF is going on in there? It's a systematic issue that does not bode well for me to have confidence in their determination of talent. In Whis I Trust has become In Whis I Wonder.

If the other posters in this thread are right, he had 5 or 6 total fumbles. That's something like 1.4%. So, if he had Hightower's 704 college carries, you'd expect Williams to have 10 total fumbles. However, according to ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=159679), Hightower had 0 fumbles in 704 carries.

Now, at the NFL level, Hightower has had 12 total fumbles in 439 carries (http://www.nfl.com/players/timhightower/profile?id=HIG784208) for a rate of 2.7%. So, if Hightower went from 0% to 2.7%, what can we expect from a guy who went 1.4% in college?

Whiz is at the mercy of his scouting department. They are the ones who go out and gather all of the information. They are the ones who put together the tapes on players. This is clearly the scouting department dropping the ball, pun intended. Ultimately they report to Graves and blame travels up.

Or maybe people should look at other ESPN stats and you'll notice they often don't list fumbles for any RB's.

Beanie Wells 0 fumbles in college http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=183932

Adrian Peterson 0 fumbles in college http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=161717

Tim Hightower had 0 fumbles in college because for whatever reason ESPN doesn't have accurate fumble stats for RB's on their non insider stats and it's been that way for years.

Yeah, I was making a joke post. Jeez, I expected a bunch of laughs, not a bunch of sissies hating.

Bottom line, though, is that everyone from the FO to the scouts to the coaching staff to the owners have to be burning with shame. They have publicly, through the coach, looked like complete morons. Way to be, Cards, way to be.

This picture was taken in the war room earlier. Forgive me for the poor picture quality--it was an unauthorized photo ;)

Adding a defensive coordinator that says we will play 100 % zone. And than drafting a corner that can't play zone, that has not shown to be good when the play is in front of him, and that is awesome in press man coverage?

Add to that that both our other top CB prospect two years ago has the same issue.

Cardinals are going to have two man coverage studs and they are going to play alot of zone.

Statement? Boneheaded no doubt

But what does this mean in the grand scheme of things?

Nothing
