Fitz is going to blow past all of Anquan's career numbers when all is said and done. I doubt Boldin makes it past his early 30s with all the hits he takes.

We shall see. He obviously wont be able to play the same physical in your face game by the time hes 32 or so. But by then he wont need to. He will play like many older WR's who are still successful ala Cris Carter. Not fast or over powering. Just crafty and great route runner with great hands. I will be surprised if Fitz is able to surpass Boldins #s for any other reason other than age. Fitz had the luxury of coming into the NFL after his sophmore year.

Fitz/Boldin = Swann/Stallworth

And Leinart's going to be better than Bradshaw - man, this offense is going to be RIDICULOUS once DG is fired and someone is brought in here to make the O-line just mediocre!

Whats funny is Swanns #'s really arent all that impressive in the grand scheme.

When all is said in done I consider Fitz to be the #1 receiver. Leinart will be a godsend for Fitz's game. We really haven't seen Fitz at his full potential. Leinart will help Fitz realize his full potential.

Countless times Fitz route running has had him wide open deep to have the QB greatly under throw the ball or as in previous QBs to Warner not even see him at all.

Of course this is a moot point if the OL doesn't give the QB time to throw deep.

Depends on the definition of a #1 WR.

I think Boldin is the best of the two, but it's Fitz drawing double coverage from the defenses.

That probably has something to do with the scheme, where Boldin gets a lot of catches underneath, while Fitz is best in the 15-20 yard range. More defenders can flow to a Boldin catch, which means Fitz draws double coverage from the secondary.

Nah Boldin had a RB's body and he does avoid most of the big hits IMO.

If there is anything to worry about it would be his knee's.

BOLDIN is Badass!

Different era. They were pretty good back then.

Not really. If you look at a lot lof the WR's of that time there are many with better #s. I remember listening to many debates on ESPN radio when he was inducted about this very topic. Many many sports "experts" felt he wasnt deserving of a HOF berth. The more I look at his stats I tend to agree. He made highlite catches but was never really a game breaking WR IMO. 336 receptions and 5400 yards over 9 season is FAR LESS than impressive. Heck Boldin is about to reach 300 in year 4 and has missed 10 games in those 4 years. Granted he did have 51 TD's which is good. But still not enough for the HOF. He made simply based on his SB performances. Which just isnt enough IMO.

Boldin can make more plays by running after the catch. But, Fitz can make more freakishly great catches up in the air and along the sideline because of his height and hands.

They are both number ones. Seriously. Neither is a number two. But, Boldin is more of a team leader.

 That is the best response you could give.

Wow great responses. I'm actually a Dolphins fan, but Monday night showed me something about Boldin, and of course I got to see him play the U when he was with FSU. And Fitzgerald I got to see play in the Big East with Pitt. I can't imagine a better tandem in the entire league. I wish I could see more Cardinals games to watch these two more. Gotta get Directv!

One more question, which WR usually draws the opponent's top cornerback?

About the only thing Fitz has on Boldin is Height. Its certainly not Hands.

I disagree here, and I bet most experts would as well. Fitzgerald has better hands, but because the Cards need a player that can break a tackle or ten and take it to the house, he is the better receiver for our team. If Fitzgerald were in St. Louis for example, he might be considered better than Boldin, because of the system.

I agree that Boldin is slightly better than Fitzgerald right now, but their hands are not created equal IMO.

It is Fitzgerald if I am not mistaken.

assuming Fitzgerald is healthy, who is considered the Cardinals #1 WR? Is it Boldin Or Fitzgerald? Not that it matters because they're both great, but who is considered #1 on the depth chart and who is considered the better WR?

Thanks in advance.

MiamiFan80, you have no idea how long this debate has been going on for.

If this is for fantasy football I say both are about the same value.

As for real life? Still both are of same value. Both have pro bowl talent, both have good hands, and both score TD's and gain yards.

They have 2 completely different styles, but it is truely impossible to say one is better than the other.

Me neither. What's really great about these two is that their styles complement each other so well. They're not the same kind of receiver, which really gives you a lot of options, depending on the situation.

Everytime people get critical about this team they lose 5 in a row.

What is the difference?

Wrong.

Every time people get critical they win a game or two. Then the Kool Aid starts flowing again and the Cards drop several in a row.

Example: In 2004 with a new coach the Kool Aid is flowing. Cards blow game against 49ers to drop to 1-4. People get critical. Cards win 3 of next 4. Kool Aid starts flowing again and Cards drop 4 straight. People get critical and Cards win 2 of last 3.

Different eras though plus mostof his career Pittsburgh had a run game and was really good so he got fewer shots.

Swann was amazing, most "graceful" Wr I've ever seen. I always thought Stallworth was overrated myself.

Boldin and Fitzgerald are scary good, with Matt that's a trio for the ages.
