Again, just from what I saw with the starters on offense, I just don't see them doing well. Unless they kick it up a notch Saturday, which I don't think they will, they have a chance.

If our key players stay healthy then this team can and will 12 games. AFC is pretty much a joke and the NFC East has a bunch of paper tigers IMO.

Falcons, Seahawks and I'm thinking the Bucs are going to be our toughest competition this year.

I see 4 keys

1. Defenses ability to stop the run
2. John brown's availability
3. Offensive lines pass pro.
4. Bethels ability to play CB

If all 4 are satisfactory or better we make the playoffs, otherwise probably not.

They were a 7/9 team stop

Too many excuses, they deserved to be the 13th worst team in the Nfl
Tell me where I'm wrong? Cat makes 2 very makeable field goals, we are 9-7 plain and simple. Punt coverage team keeps the Ram return man on their side of the 50, they never score to take the lead. That's 10-6. @ Minnesota, kickoff coverage team allows a 104 yard return and Palmer throws a 100 yard pick 6. That's 14 free points to a team that could hardly move the ball all day. Do we win? Don't know but it's a different game without those 2 long scores. Nothing I said is untrue. Just because you refuse to see it doesn't make it not so.

Those things didn't happen, though, so the team had a losing record. There are a half-dozen teams in the NFL who play woulda-shoulda-coulda about their season. Time to turn the page on a new season. We lost half the starting defense. It's senseless to try and project 2016's team into 2017.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this team likely isn't gonna be very good this year. There's no firepower on offense outside of David Johnson. Carson Palmer probably can't recover his outlier 2015 performance.

I think the upside is that our schedule sure looks soft this year. I don't think the NFC East is gonna be very good, and I don't think the AFC South is gonna be any great shakes. IMO, we're potentially looking at a wild card slot and a first-round playoff exit.

My point is that it isn't like this team got blown out week after week and more so shot themselves in the foot so many times that I'm surprised they still have toes. Many of the games the opposition didn't beat them. Remember BA's take that the Cardinals will never beat the Cardinals? Well, at least 3 of our losses and the 1 tie we beat ourselves. And the Patriots loss and the Seahawks tie are directly the result of missed walk off kicks hence the 1 loss and 1 tie ripped from the jaws of victory.

That's fine, but fans of the Rams (+4), 49ers (+3), and Seahawks (+3) are telling themselves the exact same things. It's not like we won those one-score games because we're so much more virtuous than our division opponents. Our DVOA last year was 1.3%. We were JUST BARELY an above-average team. We underperformed our pythagorean win expectation by a two games.

Yeah I'm pretty nervous about our offense this year. Fitz is a year older, and John Brown seemingly still can't stay healthy. So we have an old Fitzgerald, recovering from a major knee injury Jaron Brown, can never stay healthy John Brown, and JJ Nelson.

All of that don't mean crap on a brand new year. DVOA all you want, we'll be a 10+ win team this year. Drinking the koolaid I know.

I honestly have no idea. I'm going to go into the season thinking they're about average and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

Pretty much this.

If we're going to make the SB, we'll have to do it as the 6th seed.

maybe wildcard but theyll definitely be in playoffs.
Seattle already lost a key lineman. They arent doing any better then the last couple years. No SB for them this time.

Cards will be fine

I wasn't as high as everyone else was at this time on the Cards but this season I am more optimistic.

I definitely see the Seahawks having an off year on account of that offensive line. It's really just gonna take one hit to Wilson and things go off the rails for that team.

The same goes for Palmer, but we have a better offensive line overall.
