Couldn't agree more. From the moment this whole thing started it stank of AJ Feeely to me.

Other than playing for the Eagles, that comparison does not match at all. Feely was a 5th round pick, he didn't take a snap the year prior to be traded, was a 3rd stringer prior to his 5 game run, and he wasn't nearly as highly regarded as Kolb is around the league, except by the Dolphins.

yeah... the only reason feely is even compared is because he to played for the Eagles...

Its like comparing John Navarre to Jake Plummer...

this..

The bottom line is there IS a market for Kolb, and a 1st round pick will be the price for whoever lands him..

you bet...and chances are when the gates open up we will be in a real dogfight trying to sign him. i am sure you and i share the same feeling that the guys going after him ain't no group of "pay no mind types." and more than likely have a better eye for talent than the majority of us.

Me too. Very, very similar to that situation a few years ago. Andy Reid is pulling another con, Cardinals stay away please!

Doug / Wolf in this morning's Football at :50 segment just spent the entire time talking about why Kolb is the Cardinals best choice at QB

This is the Cardinals using their color commentator to tell the fans what they are going to do.

Combine that with Rod Graves repeating multiple times "we are going to be aggressive via trade or free agency .........." and it means they have Kolb #1 on their target list.

Somers in his blog referenced the Matt Schaub trade -- where Schaub was traded (basically) for two 2nd round picks. I dont know what Schaub's contract situation was at the time of the trade though ( I do know the Texans signed him to a big extension immediately after).

If they want Kolb then I'm going to support him. Honestly, it's just so much more interesting to me than Bulger and seeing if Skelton develops. That just stinks too much of the old days and duos like Blake/McCown.

When I think about Kolb and Skelton I see Kolb playing better for a year or two, but in the long run I see Skelton with a much higher upside. We have done nothing to upgrade our offensive line so bringing in a guy like Kolb or Bulger wouldn't do much for the team. If Whiz has no intention on improving the line then we might as well stick with Skelton and bring in somebody like Vince Young who has the athletic ability to run for his life and get a first down. Out of all the QB's available I like Carson Palmer the best, but I think he would have a tough time trying to get the ball down field when he's on his back.

You Kolb haters are crazy. Might he not work out? Absolutely.

But people who are just looking at the stats and wondering what the big deal is aren't seeing the bigger picture. Or haven't watched him play enough.

This is an opportunity to solidify our position for THE NEXT TEN YEARS. Not some stop gap like Bulger or even Palmer or Orton would be. QB's with this kind of upside dont' become available very often and when there are a special set of circumstances like this and they do, you have to take advantage.

I watched him alot during the year and went back and rewatched and his release and mobility are perfect for this team. He is not AJ Feely. When people make comparisions like that it kills your credibility. There is literally no connection other then it being the Eagles again. Others have pointed it out.

Hes not a sure thing but I am still waiting for someone to tell me what a better option is thats viably available. And like someone else said, at least it would be interesting and there is NO QUESTION he is better then what we had last year.

Kolb and then Palmer is the best case scenario. They have the highest upside with Kolb being well ahead of even Carson in that department. Everyone else is 7-9 win territory and thats it. Marc Bulger, Kyle Orton, Matt Hasselbeck, and especially Alex Smith will NEVER EVER EVER get the Cardinals to a Super Bowl because they can't win games by themselves and this team doesn't have the Raven defense.

Maybe Kolb won't either, but at least there is not year and years of evidence saying otherwise. If the Cardinals have evaluated him and think hes worth the risk, then I am on board. This isn't picking Derek Anderson off the scrap heap in FA. This potentially a first or 2nd round pick at stake. So don't bring up the "well Wiz brought in DA" argument because thats apples and oranges.

Kolb is a good player. And he might be a great one. Thats the type of swing the Cardinals have to take.

All of these QB's are about the same size and throw right handed. Only one of them played in a very QB friendly offense. Which one is the standout? Which would you want your team to give up a 1st + ? as well as a big contact and commit to for the next 3+ years?

Invisio text:
Brady Quinn 14 games/12 starts
Kevin Kolb 19 games/7 starts
Brodie Croyle 18 games/ 10 starts
Brooks Bollinger 21 games/10 starts

Now, is Kolb really a gem that's just waiting to get his chance(again)? Or should the statistical company he's keeping be a sobering thought?
