He's got one more year on his contract, so... yes.

I don't know what you want to hear.

I hope he stays here for the last year. He has been great with the absence of Amare.

He is under contracts so it's not like he has a choice. Shaq has been great here. The team should probably reload in the offseason, so I think this team is going to be very active in trades. I think this is probably the last year in a Suns uniform which is a shame because had we had a better talented team on the defensive end you could do some real damage with Shaq on your team.

There is no way Shaq walks away from 20 million dollars and a chance to sucker some team into signing him for another 2 years.

If the Suns can hold onto Shaq and pay his salary until next season's trading deadline, he may have some value. I just don't see Shaq accepting a buyout unless it is very close to the money remaining on his full contract. What I do worry about is the Suns possibly sending their first round pick (possible lotto) and/or another player to move him before next season begins (like KT).

My preference is for the Suns to keep Shaq until next season's trading deadline. I guess the Suns decision will also be influenced if Stoudemire decides to opt out in 2010.

I believe we cannot do that unless we get a 1st rounder in return. If we trade away our pick, we will have no 1st rounder in consecutive years, and that is not legal I believe. I guess we'd have to make the choice first and then send whoever that is plus Shaq to a team.

My feeling as well.

This is the way it would have to be done.

Why not a buy out ? Swift, Hill, Barnes, Lou an Dudley are all FA next summer. With or without Amare, this team is not going to win a ring. Shaq can ask/accept a buyout, and sign with a contender (Lakers/Spurs/Cavs) for a last ring.

If the Suns don't make the playoffs this year, I doubt he'll want to come back here.

Based on his past history he will either request a trade or "be too injured" to play.

Shaq would definitely want to hang around, although I doubt he wants to stay here if we continue to play sloppy.

The irony with Shaq is that had Colangelo not got the rules changed a few years ago Shaq would still be a dominate player and the Suns would be at least a solid 6 seed, Porter's system probably would have worked and the Suns might actually stand a chance of making some noise in the playoffs.
