WK 5 - San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals Pre Game Thread Oct 4th - Oct 10th, 2021

If you look almost every throw is very hot and many are too high. 2-3 could have been picked, he nearly got Kittle hurt in the endzone in double coverage ball is high but Kittle gets both hands on it and then gets blasted by the DB's and drops it. Some really nice runs and escapes from sacks. One of them against Dunlap is comical the TE just grabs Dunlap and pulls him away and they didn't call the hold.

The same stuff we saw in the preseason he throws every ball hard, high throws. When he runs he almost always goes headfirst he does not slide he either leads with his head or dives headfirst, he's going to get hurt doing that.

But again very athletic and a very strong arm. Seems to prefer Deebo to everyone else, with Kittle not 100% probably a smart thing.

Yeah honestly as a fan of the NFL I want kids like that to learn very quickly slide feet first and get down or get out of bounds. Stop taking those hits you will wreck your career doing that. Big strong kid very raw but someone teach that kid to slide.

It's hard to see everything because his mechanics are so bad and distracting. Right now as a dropback passer Lance isn't NFL quality. He doesn't really have the reps at any level yet.

That said, the screen game that the 49ers use is absolutely terrifying to me.

this game will really tell us how focused and ready for primetime this team is. This is a TOTAL trap game, especially if we're facing a rookie in his first start. Flying high off the route of the Rams, breaking that streak, all the media jumping on our bandwagon... a legit playoff contender comes out and wins this game, whatever it takes, close or blowout. A pretender starts thinking their ish don't stink and craps the bed against an opponent they SHOULD beat.

As a division rival, I can’t bring myself to think this is a trap game. We lost our last 2 games, and thus a playoff spot, to the Niners & Rams. We got revenge with the Rams, and now it’s time to exact revenge against the Niners. For all intents & purposes, it was the embarrassing loss to the Niners AT HOME that cost us a playoff run. I can’t imagine that any decent coaching staff won’t use that to have his team sky high come Sunday. Absolutely no excuse for the Cardinals to come out flat. I’m more fearful that we come out too pumped up & have stupid penalties coming out of the gate.

I think we win this one by 8-12 pts. It helps that we should have enough tape on Lance and what the 9rs expect him to be able to do. I was impressed with JT and how well he covered the back end. Budda can play a little closer to the line and close the running lanes. Prediction 31-20

If Lance is playing and we can pressure him it should be straight forward if we play to our current level.

i will be shocked if the Cards on first down/ run down situations they roll out the 2 DL defense

i see three, and i wouldnt be surprised if they went four with a LB group of Chandler, Hicks Simmons
