This is my worst fear. We lose out on the number 1 pick and end up sticking with McCown for next year. Then the draft turns into another Wadsworth or Pace/Bryant situation.

Although, you always want the team to win... (I think).

I hear you it is a catch 22 but I think at this point McCown just has locked down the backup spot and nothing more. We can cut Blake and draft a QB.

We stink at drafting DE's anyway.

unless we somehow beat SEA or MIN on the road. If we have the #1 pick and Manning is not our QB ownership will be never live it down and the new stadium will be empty until ownership sells.

True, unless McCown turns out to be a decent NFL QB and the Cards draft Roy Williams and then the stadium will be packed with people coming out to watch the Cards score 35 points a game.
