I suspect someone will respond to this with a list of names. Nonetheless I want to indicate this is a weak draft for wide receivers. No question to Cards want to run. Also no question they’ve been primarily focused on the O-line. Still if you don’t want to face 8 in the box every down you’d better have at least a semblance of a passing attack. There may yet be a few more useful roster cuts but they need to get a break 8n the draft and pick a winner.

I think Sutton is special. I think Kirk will be great and Ridley solid at the very least but Sutton is that big body WR which could be our number one WR a few seasons from now... I really like the guy, though he would have to be taken in the first

I luv a WR which can use the stiff arm :)

Right, almost made not post the video lol

Sutton btw has been consistent for 3 seasons
Production match talent
He is big body receivers but he is pretty elusive considering his size
Maybe doesn't have the bursnt but can get free in the open field

Just took a look at his combine numbers (I use to give not much importance)
what impressed me, the 3cone drill time: 6.57

He makes up for any speed concerns by being able to play fast, hence he's a football player. Dude played at SMU which has not helped his cause but as you said he has been consistent regardless of the talent around him. He may not be Julio Jones part two, but a defense would have to game plan for him

Post this after training camp and then ask me how worried I am.

Nelson got to feel lonely in fitz’s Pocket - we got speed and possession

I'd like them to draft Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the later rounds. He's 6'5" and ran a 4.37 at the combine. A bit of a project, but there's potential.

If he’s got good character and was the team captain he sounds like a perfect Steve Keim guy...

Like many mid-range programs the coaching at USF is often marginal. I thought serval players didn’t play to their potential. In Marquez Valdes-Scantling‘s case he runs sloppy routes. That’s correctable. The other concern is trickier. He drops too many easy balls. Sometimes this corrects, some players are plagued by it for their entire career.

Terrelle Pryor is still out there, I'm amazed we haven't at least brought him in for a visit. I would enjoy bringing him in and drafting at least three guys. (Something like the 2nd, 4th, and 7th pick.)

Chad Williams needs to pick it up. Draft one. Get a FA WR that is a late cut. CardS will be OK

With that height and speed he'd only need to catch 5-6 balls a game. A few deep ones and use him for endzone jump balls or along the back matched up with a safety. :)

If he had Changed positions recently or had been from a small school, Keim would take him day 1 or 2

WR seems like it drops off fast

a thought: if the second round rolls by and a few of the top TEs are still there -- why not go TE?

if the idea with Bradford is a quicker passing game, and, a young QB on the roster -- wouldnt a capable receiving TE be a nice option in the middle of the field? ( and, im not ready to annoint RSJ as the answer there) --

so: if Giesecki lasts that long, great. But Mark Andrews in round 2, or, a Troy Fumagalli in round 3

I don't really get the concern. We will add a vet guy or two prior to camp. We have Chad Williams and JJ Nelson who both fit different roles. We are going to run the ball, so that limits the impact of depth. We probably add a late round guy and two vets and call it good. Those guys don't matter until we get the QB situation figured out.

Counting on Williams is begging for trouble; he contributed nothing and didn't look to be developing at all. Nelson? An okay 3rd or 4th option. Without a #1, Fitz will get double teamed all the time, and there won't be ANY threat of a passing game, leaving 8 in the box on a consistent basis, damaging the run game. And to leave that dumpster fire of a situation until late in the draft/a vet or two prior to camp is threatening to burn the whole season.

It's going to be very easy for teams to double/triple Fitz on underneath routes and dare us to try something with JJ, who will rarely win contested balls. Chad Williams has shown just about nothing thus far, and counting on him to go up against the team's best corner is asking for trouble.
