He played pretty well for the Jags, certainly not a guy that will kill you as the 4th or 5th receiver. I like him.

Come home Mikey! Loved the thought of him as a Card coming out in the draft. Who does he take time away from? He's quick, but not really the speedster BA covets like Hawkins does IMO. I also thought Taylor had this team made.

I guess they're looking for some experience backing Roberts in the slot.

Why bring in another WR when we already have a pretty good lineup now? I know Mike is a veteran, but still, I think what we got going on now with the WR battle was good enough.

This guy has done it when real bullets are flying.

He can also return kicks which could mean the end of Fonzo.

In 2010 he had 66 for 800 yards and 4 TD's. The yardage would have led the Cardinals last year and was only would have been only 5 receptions behind Fitz. Not bad when you consider David Garrard was their QB.

If he's better than who we have you keep him, if he isn't you cut him. Never hurts to have veteran competition in camp.

David Garrad certainly was not a bad QB, just a guy who had a career cut a few years short because of a knee injury he never recovered from.

Agreed, but that was the same year as Garrad's last year when he was on his last leg so to speak.

Mike "Money" Thomas FTW :cats:

Hes a decent 4 or 5 WR and can return kicks.

Why not? After 1-3 it's all youngsters.

I like the way the staff is working on our depth by instilling competition and bringing in dude's who really want jobs and are willing to fight for it. And I don't just mean this signing. The Winston signing was a coup and shook up our entire line, as one example. I think in the past we were complacent when it comes to competition for the backups. Not to say that those depth guys didn't compete before, under the Whis regime, but there really wasn't much of a threat of bringing in guys after they're already feeling safe in their backup role. Those competitions before were basically guys fighting to be 2nd or 3rd string--now they're fighting just to stay on the team. It keeps dudes on their toes, keeps them fighting, and always looking over their shoulder. And it goes back to the mental errors, because our 4th and 5th receivers weren't playing badly in my opinion. BA doesn't want a stupid team. Cardinals won't beat Cardinals. BA is the anti-Denny Greene, you aren't who I thought you were! Next man up.

FYI......The dude runs the WR screen better than anyone else on our roster.

I've got nothing pro or con on Thomas.

I just think the Cardinals would be better served in occupying this roster spot by bringing in an additional TE not WR.

I think running back can use some competition as well.

We have open spots, but, there simply isn't much out there on the TE front.
