Year after year... camp after camp... preseason after preseason and game after game, so many here bitch and moan about the love shown the 9ers and the unending disrespect levied against the Cards. Well, what transpired yesterday in Atlanta and tonight in San Francisco should entirely eliminate these constant gripes.
IMO, the 9ers are a better team than the Cards and 100% deserved all of the preseason hype they received this year. They have legit studs and playmakers all over the place. Smith, while not a future hall of famer, is more than serviceable and is showing signs of incredible improvement and maturity. Their o-line is more than solid. Anthony Davis and Iupati are totally legit and FOR REAL! Frank Gore is a beast. Vernon Davis is top 2-3 in the NFL. Crabtree appears to be a budding star. Josh Morgan is a great #2. Patrick Willis is a Ray Lewis soon to be. Goldson is a pure stud and arguably more consistently effective than A-Dub.
And for all the mayhem Sing causes and the inability to get plays called on time, they only committed 5 penalties and for the most part, played like a well-coached team.
What happens when the Cards are on nationally televised games? Aside from the post season runs, the Cards have made it a habit to get destroyed when the spotlights are shinning. Tonight, the 9ers acquitted themselves extremely well and demonstrated why all of the preseason love was warranted. Meanwhile, we showed why all of the massive disrespect was also totally warranted...
The 9ers are legit. This is going to get very interesting...
