Considering what the Cardinal coaches were given for linebackers and offensive line, I'd be down on my knees thanking God that I work for the clueless Bidwells.

A wasted season is a 5-11 or 4-12.This was not a wasted season.Only a true downer thinks that way.

Okay, I misspelled Bidwill. I gave them the same amount of respect they've been giving fans for decades.

I agree, however, I don't think Fitz will be trade-able...He's going to be cut.

Also, for all of the talk of needing a pass rusher, it's apparent the QB is the biggest issue, as we saw yesterday...So, if a QBOF is there at #1 you take him...if not, go pass rusher. I don't want to see another 3-7 round QB taken to "develop", to be honest with you.

Top ten:

1. Resolve the Fitz contract situation. By far the number one priority.
2. Draft a power running back.
3. Fix the qb issue. Palmer coming off an ACL injury, Stanton is injury prone, Logan Thomas not the QB of the future for sure.
4. Draft a pass rushing OLB
5. Continue to build the offensive line. Replace Fanalka
6. Draft or sign a quality Kickoff/Punt Return player.
7. Restructure Dockett contract.
8. Cut Lindley, Ginn, & Butler
9 Work with BA on replacement for Bowles if he gets HC job.
10. Resolve Daryl Washington situation. Need ILBs.

Who are the top QBs-Marcus Mariotta and Jameis Winston-both probably gone before 24 ( I think that's Cards spot).I liked brett Hundley UCLA.After the first 2 QBs the QB class is average from the so-called experts. That`s way a pass rusher might be the option.

The Bidwills have become some of the better owners in the league, and are fighting to give us all they can with all that happened to create carnage on our roster this year. Who do you want? Jones? Irsay? Haslam? Davis? All the Bidwills do is sign the checks, hire the GM, and work on promotions. In every respect they are the best in the league, and have been ever since the State of Arizona finally stopped reneging on its promises to the team. They were lured here with the promise to build a new stadium after St Louis refused to update Busch stadium. And lo and behold, once they got here, no follow through by you and the other residents. Not only did they have no stadium revenue when other teams got multimillions of dollars, they actually had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per week to rent Sun Devil Stadium. This was before full revenue sharing. The vicious circle of not being able to afford to compete left the stadium empty, and no new revenue coming in.
You'll notice that since the stadium went up, the team has been highly competitive for the most part, and there hasn't been a seat unsold yet. Sellout - every game - now that the team has been put on a level playing field and has been extremely competitive in seasons where we actually had our quarterbacks stay intact (same as would be for any other team in the league).
Braindead trolls step back from the keyboard, mom is calling you up for meatloaf.

Anyway, as GM, you have three upcoming cycles of activity:
First: try to renegotiate Fitz and Dockett to terms that are remotely appropriate for their production and not on 2008 performance.
Determine if Zasty is coming back. Resign Stanton if he agrees to sensible terms, he is as solid a backup as we could hope for.
Keep Cromartie.
Make it known to Bowles that he is the heir apparent to the HC job, and we don't want him to leave and toss away his career trajectory coaching for the Raiders or Jets or some other dysfunctional organization.
Second: Free agency: get some linebackers and interior O Linemen.
Won't be hard to upgrade.
Third: Draft. We'll be picking around 24th. Won't get Mariota or Winston, but will be in a prime spot for ILB or OG/C. The prime OLB's will be gone by that time. Just depends who drops. I expect abundant LB, interior line help, and a look at a QB this draft. By far our weakest spots.

Hey Russ, I'd like your .02 cents on Hundley too. If you've done it before I've missed it.

The punter for one of the final four college teams that played a few days ago was awesome. I don't know whether he will be in the draft, but he is almost worth a first round.

i hire an offensive coordinator
the offense even with palmer wasnt nothing special
our offense couldnt put a lot of points on the board
close matches expose too much our defense and in the final part of the season was tired

Re-sign Dan Williams, Rashad Johnson, and Antonio Cromartie if possible.

Find a deal with Fitz that brings him down to a reasonable cap number ($10 million would work).

Cut outright Ted Ginn, Butler and Lindley.

Move Logan Thomas to TE. Cut John Carlson. Go with Fells, Niklaus, and Thomas at TE next year.

Draft: QBOF, big RB (Todd Gurley??), offensive line (RT and guard), CB (if Cro cannot be resigned), ILB (to cover tight ends).

Coaching: Promote from within for DC (if Bowles leaves). Add an offensive coordinater to this team. Arians has enough to worry about and I thought the play calling did not reflect our team strengths near the end. Need an independent thinker that can call appropriate plays.

Good thoughts, Jay. Just wanted to point out that Rashad Johnson is signed through next season ($2.1M on the cap in 2015).

As for QBOF: Brett Hundley looks now like he would be around at 22. I think he is further along than Logan Thomas, but brings all the same developmental challenges -- poor mechanics, spotty accuracy and not a lot of evidence of reading defenses from the pocket.

Maybe Jameis Winston slides -- But I doubt he slides to 22.

I think the window is open for this team to contend-- so I put my eggs in the Palmer basket and hope for the best. I want to invest in getting better up front on the offensive line, and improving the running game.

The good news there is that LT is set, and RT is good enough. Guards and RBs are easier to find past round 1 than almost any other position.

Adding athleticism anywhere on the front 7 is important. Yesterday you could see how they needed someone on the edge to command a double team.

And let's hope that Daryl Washington does and says all the right things and only gets a 4 game suspension to start next season.

Ignorant post. How long have you been a fan? Michael Bidwill personally knocked on doors to get votes for the new stadium which has fueled our recent success and he's committed to winning. I have zero doubt about that. His dad had absolutely no interest in winning and was perhaps the worst owner in the history of professional sports. To suggest that Michael doesn't want to win is just plain stupid.

That was the Alabama punter, JK Scott. Dude was only a freshman! Might be the best punter I've ever seen, though that was a short audition. But he was doing it all year. Truly impressive, and we've not seen the last of this kid, not by a long shot.

Refuse to blame BA for play calling. It's hard to win a chess match when all you have is a rook and 10 pawns.

First thing is to resolve the Fitz issue. Trade ? Cut? Renegotiate. Fitz holds the Cards and we should oblige him with class, but he cannot hold us hostage, even if it means a 14 cap hit. If that is the case at least we will be out from under that contract in 2016.

Re-do something with Dockett. I loved the fact the guy was on the sidelines for every game after his injury. I think he bleeds Cardinal Red. He brings a bit of leadership and swagger to the D.

Resign The Dumpster. Our d-line is in great shape both in quality and depth.

Must cuts, not taking into cap hits or bargains because I'm not up to snuff on that stuff:
Butler
Ginn
Lindley
Carlson

One year contract players:
Cromartie. Would love to keep him but wouldn't break the bank
Foote. Was a key part of the D but certainly is a liablity in passing downs. I would bring him back but again I wouldn't break the bank.

Fringe players that could stay or go based on F/A or cap hit
Acho
Kelly

That gets us to the draft. I see 3 major needs starting with linebackers. Our LB corps is deplorable.

*D Washington REALLY set us back.
*J. Abraham was another blow. They were two pieces in place that were key pieces to the puzzle.
*Minter thus far is nowhere near what we were hoping for.
*Foote is a FA , another year older and simply cannot be asked to cover in passing downs.
Okafor. Thank god he has emerged. At least we have 1 solid LB.
The rest of the names would all be back ups and they should probably remain that way.
In conclusion I think we need 2 inside LB and 1 OLB. Fill in the names of who you want. Whoever they are they need speed to go from sideline to sideline and get to the QB without using a sundial.

The second need is to get better on the interior of the O-line. For the love of God we need to be able to run the ball with SOME success. Can we count on Cooper? Larsen and Fanaika for depth would be acceptable. So either thru FA or the draft we need a bonafide guard that can step in and start today.

Third. We need to come up with a bonafide QBoF. Bring in somebody that can learn for a year that is young enough, smart enough, and ACCURATE! Accuracy can be improved but I don't care what anybody says it can't be taught.
Rogers,Manning, Brady, Rothlisberger, Ryan, Brees, and many other have that in common...they are accurate.

It appears Mike Glennon fits this bill. He could be had from the Bucs and we would probably have to over pay to some degree but I want this problem solved. Palmer is penciled in #1 and Glennon would be groomed to take over maybe as soon as 2016. The way things went this year he would be a huge upgrade over Stanton or you know who should Palmer go down again.

Glennon fits the BA mold. He is 6'6" and 232lbs. Strong arm. Has a completion pct of almost 60%, has thrown twice as many td's to Ints,( 29/15) and is only 25 years old.

Draft.
*We will probably have to use 2 of our first 3 picks on LB's providing and depending on what we do in free agency.
*We need to get a RB that can pound it between the tackles. Dwyer I think was that guy and another blow to this team. I think we can live with K Williams, Taylor and The Duke but we need that guy that can get you 2 or 3 yards when their D knows you are going to run the ball.
* With the possibility of losing Fitz and assuming Ginn is gone we need to add another quality wr because suddenly depth is an issue. This could be solved with F/A. With the emergence of so many rookie WR I'm sure there are some teams that will cut some quality wr. It wouldn't have to be a superstar. Look at what Brandon Lafell turned out to be. I'm sure there are 3 or 4 potential "Lafells" out there.

Your welcome Mr. Kiem. LOL

I could see Glennon released if they draft a QB like it's rumored.
