Georiga was a good game for him, but all of his big plays come off of Stroud scrambling and extending the play. He also drops a touchdown because Stroud didn't throw it in a place where he couldn't body catch it.
MHJ is obviously a good receiver, but all the hype saying he was generational, new Calvin Johnson, so far ahead of the other receivers in the draft, etc.... it seemed unwarranted. I bought into the hype, decided to trust the analysts instead of my lying eyes. But at the time I thought I was crazy because he stood out the least of the big 3 when I watched games. Predraft I thought it might not be a bad move if Monti drafted Joe Alt or traded down and got Odunze/Nabers, and I was shouted down. Eventually I did join the MHJ or bust crowd. Right now MHJ isn't as good as Nabers, he's just not, nor is he obviously better than Odunze or Brian Thomas. Joe Alt is hurt at the moment but he completely shut down Maxx Crosby and only allowed a single pressure vs. TJ Watt.
Hopefully MHJ continues to develop, I'm not worried about him at all, he will be good for us. My only gripe was against the idea that he had to be the pick, and that any other pick or trade down would have been dumb.
