Think you're wrong on when he re-signed. From what I've found he resigned June 29th, so the last day eligible before free agency opened up. He signed a 2 year deal that is only guaranteed for $250k in year 2, so basically nothing. It was a $25m over 2 years and he's making $12.65 this season and if he were retained he'd make $13.28 million. Sounds like the $250k is sort of splitting the difference, if the deal didn't have raises and was flat. He's not playing for Washington. I'd guess they didn't know they'd get Jonas Valanciunas so Holmes was insurance while also being trade bait. He's essentially an expiring contract because no one will let a 250k cap hit get in their way.

I can't find any preseason stats or injury information for him. I imagine he's just hanging back and getting paid. We should see him moved eventually.

Info on the extension is in this article.

That matches what BBReference has as well.

I guess he did play in the preseason. Can't find much of any information but he's listed here on a Wizards fan site, like Bright Side, as the leader in preseason PPA. What PPA is, I'm not sure. However he did play so that's some of the puzzle solved.

The February date is probably when Holmes was traded to the Wizards, not the extension date. I guess I used that date because it came to mind.

When Holmes signed the extension with the Wizards is not of much importance to me, except for when he is eligible to be traded.

I was looking at players that might help the Suns, not just him.

He probably could be had for second round picks, but I couldn't find a salary that would work except for Allen and I wouldn't trade him for Holmes.

The Celtics and Hornets had a volatile game on Friday. See the foul on Grant Williams.

Nuggets and Wolves playing an entertaining game. Very chippy. Murray concussed, Gobert has a flagrant and a tech.

That's one hell of a slanted comment about a strong play ruined by his post-play antics. They left out the fact that number 0 clearly, and unnecessarily, initiated contact with Gobert after the play while taunting Gobert.

I don’t think there was anything over the line there. It was the greatest dunk of his career and he was emoting. His momentum carried him through the baseline and he wasn’t looking at Gobert after seeing the replay from another angle. However I don’t blame Gobert for throwing a forehand based on the contact or Braun getting a tech.

We'll have to agree to disagree as that's not how it looked to me, it seemed he had plenty of room to stop and celebrate without getting into Gobert's space.

Braun himself regretted doing it after the game, and to his credit, Gobert wrote it off and basically said the kid deserves to celebrate the dunk because it was a hell of a play. So both sides took the high road on this one.

CJ McCollum and Herb Jones of the Pelicans will out for a minimum of 2-3 weeks.

A lot of teams regret not trading for Buddy Hield right now.

Hield is in a great spot and a good replacement for Klay, offensively. He's been on a half dozen teams so his offense is nothing knew. I believe he's made the 2nd most 3's over the last 7 or 8 years, only behind Steph and he surpassed Klay at some point.

That game last night was insane. Warriors led by 31 at one point in first half, 26 at the half. The Rockets bench came all the way back and took the lead. Warriors pulled ahead again but Rockets tied it and sent it into OT. And then Kuminga powered the W's to the win in OT. No Curry, no Melton, Draymond fouled out and they pulled it out.

Houston has a ton of young talent, no idea why they are still playing Dillon Brooks he was terrible last night. Aaron Holiday was great and Eason and Amen Thompson my goodness they were tough last night. It was also one of those games where it's one sided so the refs start allowing a ton of stuff they would normally call, and then the game gets tight and the players are confused when they start calling it again.

W's missed I think 18 FT's last night that was a huge factor in Houston coming back.

Come on. There is no question that he purposely walked right into Gobert's space. He may not have been looking at him but the intent to gloat was there. That wasn't momentum. That was purposeful steps toward Gobert.
