Never wanted Watson as a fan so its not hindsight for me.

It's just another data point of who to listen to in terms of QB assessment. Mina Kimes ain't someone I would ever listen to in terms of football knowledge. Its really easy for her script writers to love on K1 now. Take Jayden Daniels this season. Everyone was like 'Daniels is amazing' now it turns out the dude might be the 3rd best QB in the draft class. There needs to be some temperament when it comes to who is hot.

That's what so disconcerting for me.... so many people on the board here ready to throw the brave and courageous Kyler Murray on the trash heap for whatever flash in the pan, flavor of the month QB had just strung a couple of good games together.

Oh! If we only had Jayden Daniels, the offense would run so much better! Oh! Jayden Daniels is so awesome! I'm sure he's going to be a hall of famer!

Oh! If we only had CJ Stroud, the offense would run so much better! Oh! CJ Stroud is so awesome! I'm sure he's going to be a hall of famer!

Oh! If we only had Kliff Kingsbury, the offense would run so much better! Oh! Kliff Kingsbury is so awesome! I'm sure he's going to be a hall of famer!

I'm like, my god, have a little faith that your once in a generation talent of a QB is going to put it all together once he has competent coaching and GM'ing

You're looking at the afters. Hindsight is 20/20. Before all of that, guy was one of the top QBs in the league and better than KM. Now? Wouldn't even want him on the practice squad. He's washed more than an old gym sock and with the baggage of your 73-year-old Aunt Wendy showing up for Christmas.

There's also understanding that it's a team game Stout, and most of the time it takes all 53 + the coaches to win an NFL football game.

You can phoo phoo me all you want, but when you consider mobility, arm talent and intangibles, Kyler Murray is the most talented QB in the NFL. Full stop.

For that to translate to consistent on the field success, he needs some help, which he is finally getting.

MVP is incoming. And get ready to start hanging more banners in SFS.

That would take a lot of self reflection and humility.

Meanwhile QBs that were wanted Carr, Watson, and Jones have been shown to be total frauds and cast aside. Yet K1 fans are told to turn down the rhetoric.

It’s laughable.

Be thankful we don’t have to be lost in the wilderness again having to look for another QB.

I think my favorite QB from that draft, Penix, is in the best situation. Old school getting to watch and learn from a vet.

I thought Penix had the biggest potential coming out but we will see when he gets to play.

It’s still way too early but Nix and May have both been playing better as of late.
Payton is a QB whisperer, so I’m not surprised about Nix, although I am surprised it happened this quickly. And Maye has really been looking good! Definitely the 2 best rookie QB’s this year.

Oh absolutely. You can say that about every QB.

The thing I liked about Penix was he was nails when the pressure was most intense when the game was on the line and it was "gotta have it" drive time. Even at Indiana. More so than Williams or Maye (who I think is Herbert Lite, but will have a long career). Then Michigan beat the crap out of him and made him look human.

I think the QB class this year is far inferior to last year. I don't like anybody really.

Contracts aside.

Would you take either CJ Stroud or Jayden Daniels over Murray to be the Cardinals QBOTF?

Talent wise it's super close but those guys are 4 years younger. I still think Daniels play style is going to get him killed at some point so my future ranking would be:

Stroud

Big gap

Murray
Daniels

Or he could be RG3 part 2. He runs to contact too much for me

However, the talent, arm and size are hard to deny.

Edit: I should also mention he can run as well, but it's a double edge sword like with Kyler.

I was a Kyler doubter from day 1. He has matured and winning me over. Sometimes it takes that. Don’t sell him short.

I wish the question wasn't worded that way, but Jayden Daniels could be really special.

This is kind of what I'm getting at Mainstreet! I'm not discounting your conclusion, I'm just saying K1 is much more of a known commodity!

That his amazing arm talent, mobility, and off the field prep/leadership (these last two are newer, I'll admit), have all been proven at the NFL level over several seasons!

Why would you trade a QB that is special for one that could be special?

My answer is similar to this. I think Murray and Daniels will end up being a toss up. But yeah, Stroud for sure.

He's playing well this year. He is winning me over. Call me back when he wins--or even clinches--anything, and we can talk about special. If you keep saying generational, the laughing emoji is coming out :)

Glad to see the argument is now about is K1 generational from him being a franchise QB.

Making small steps.

What's the saying, "a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush." This is where the Cardinals are with Murray. They should be building off their foundational pieces.

However, if everything were equal, I'd say Jayden Daniels has more upside.
