Martz has his Qb and we'll be seeing an offense similar to one of his prior Rams machines.
Of course this QB will be more like ony Banks...and this offensive machine will resemble the Rams circa 1997.
They both were drafted high by San Diego and the comparison ends there.
I was a big fan of Rivers from his very first game at NC State and i think in time he'll prove to be a better QB than Brees. Let's not forget that Drew just came on two years ago and was approaching bust status in some...
The Cards lost 5 games by 7 points or less. One game was lost by 8 points.
I typically dislike the could've/should've/would've game but if they had a better back who could have scored an extra Td in just 4 of those games then they would have made the playoffs.
Something to think about.
We could easily draft a running back on day 2 or bring in a 3rd tier running back in free agency to take his place. Of course, he has faced opposition in the past and risen to the challenge.
I could easily see the Cards bringing in a big nack to add balance to the backfield.
If we take Davis at #10 not only will he block but he'll do windows, bring you breakfast in bed, make a mean whiskey sour and score touchdowns in bunches.
I'm not even a proponent of drafting the guy.
They said, "Build it and they will come." We built it and now the free agents are coming.
Boy, what I just wrote could be twisted and taken the wrong way. :)
I keep wanting to say BPA but I have to add caveats like "unless it's a wr" or "but not a running back now that we have edge."
BPA still seems like the best strategy though. As long as their not reaching for this years guard equivalent of Calvin Pace then I'll be cool.
FAs
- Mawae
- Wright
- Sheilds
Draft
1) V Young or bpa
2) L Pope, TE from Georgia
3) BPA
Mawae and Shields don't have much time left. But for once the Cards may be able to convince a couple of warriors to jump on board for one last shot at greatness.
Boy that sounds weird when...
No way to lose in this scenerio. We can either steal the keystone of their line or run up the price on him so the Seahags sign him to a prohibitivly expensive contract.
Makes you want to chant, "Nana, Nana, nana, nana we signed Clancy."
New division hell, the gmen are still a rival in my eyes. Here's one for all those times they opened the stadium doors during a crucial field goal attempt.
Cardinal burner who had his best games against us. Two teams are weakened by this trade, so it's all good.
You better call Snider and draw up that proposal for Florida swampland while the getting is good.
