    Could the Lakers even sign him to the minimum? I thought they were over the salary cap which is why they had to sign Malone and Payton to the two exceptions. Or can teams sign as many minimum salary players as it takes to fill out there roster regardless of their cap status?

    Honestly I don't think that he was an All-Star last season so much because he is such a good player as they had to have a center on the team and they just couldn't think of anybody else in the East. He pretty much got it by default. And I don't see the point in trying to get another center...
