    Marlins interested in Jorge Julio

I agree. It would probably be a triple-a prospect that you would get in return. As long as the guy is a solid prospect though, al la Eveland, it would be ok to pay part of the salary.

    Marlins interested in Jorge Julio

Dbacks should offer to pay a decent chunk of his salary if they send a young starting pitcher in return.

    Favorite Cards moment all time

The game in the 1998 season at home versus Washington that was one on a last second field goal. That was a crazy game and the ending was so great. Also the game against the Vikings to end the 2003 season because i was in the North Endzone right near the play.

Gary Matthews Jr linked to Roid Ring Bust

They claimed he ordered it in 2004 from what I read. So my guess is, unless it was a huge order, that it wasn't instrumental. You are completely right though that it's a shame that no one can accomplish anything without everyone suspecting they were cheating. The thing i find most interesting...

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

Another way to put it is Owings pitches smart while Nippert is still just "throwing". Owings bat comes up big too. He was a two way star at Tulane and continued to rake in Tucson. He was so good they wanted to pinch hit him but the organization disallowed it. He hit .405 with an OBP of .421 and...

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

You are dead on about Nippert. The guy gave up a lot of flyballs. Owings is a 50 /50 guy if that makes any sense. He gets as many outs by fly ball as by ground ball. He had 102 ground ball outs and 92 fly ball outs in Tucson last year. Overall though he only gave up .41 homeruns per nine...

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

This is 100% true and while the dbacks don't have fantastic pitching prospects right now I think there are a few solid ones and the rotation over the next two years will be surprisingly good. If this offense can provide anything this team could have something with that defense up the middle.

It's not short for Crash Davis like in the movie its short for Crash and Burn like you are gonna do in the fantasy league ;)

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

YES! Thank god it's baseball time. You and your wife need to get renting the dvd's then because those are all on my list of top movies and some of the greatest one liners.

I'm going to refer to you as Crash from now on ;).

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

You could have stopped right there. Everything you said after it is discredited... jk. I agree that Catchers are just as important as 2B but not more so then SS.

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

Plus if the Dbacks identify a definite need in the future they have the necessary pieces to pull of a big trade to bring that piece in and still have enough talent in the farm system. Case and point the Randy Johnson deal on a small scale.

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

I would agree that right now Hudson's defense is vastly superior and for the next three or four years it probably will be better than Callaspo's but I think Callaspo will also prove to be a valuable piece to this team. I think both can co-exist in the right situation. I like the problem of too...

Matt Millon one of the top GM's in all of sports according to Forbes?

This seemed to be from a business perspective and even then it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Glad I don't regularly turn to Forbes for my sports advice. Hopefully the Mr. B doesn't either otherwise Matt Millen could be on his way here. jk

    Chad Tracy or Conor Jackson?

No way in the world would I trade Callaspo. His ceiling is as high if not higher than that of CoJack and maybe even Quentin. The guy is amazing defensively at 3B, 2B and SS plus his bat is great. He could easily hit .320 on a consistent basis while providing solid defense. O-Dog's defense is...

Because they were trying to win a close game? Honestly Marion had two games off last week so he has had rest recently. I agree. To the Mavs fans a win is a win is a win. Enjoy setting records now because you will be hurt once again in the playoffs.

You just keep thinking this is the best the Suns got. Hell I hope Dirk and the boys think the same thing.

    Charlotte @ Phoenix - Game Thread - March 7, 2007 - 7:00 pm

HAHAHAHA. The way to stop the Suns is play a boring midseason game that they could care less about. That is the solution to stopping the Suns and their running attack.

Well why would you sign a guy who has averaged almost 20 points a game in his career and a starter for most of it and then not play him at all?

I trust coach D's assessment of Rose and this system. It's not a major cop out to say he doesn't fit in because he can't shoot threes and he isn't all of a sudden going to learn how to shoot the three or become a drive and pass guy. Not at this time and age.

    Charlotte @ Phoenix - Game Thread - March 7, 2007 - 7:00 pm

I think it was as much a keeping him away from another team that he fit in with then him fitting in here.

It's not that he is slow it's the fact that he doesn't fit the system. He can't shoot threes and isn't a good drive and dish player. Those are keys in this system. Rose needs the ball in his hands to run a system and he isn't going get that in this system. He hands down isn't a good fit.

Official 2006 Arizona Wildcats Basketball Thread

I think these are great. Thank god the red is gone they were an eye sore. These are clean, nothing flashy yet classy. I'm glad the Cats made the switch and according to Ryan Finley of the Star they are here to stay.
