    Free Agency 2018

Okay, I see it now. I'm doing the same thing (using the situation), in talking about VanVleet, Wright and Tyus Jones. Their teams are in financial straits and I wasn't aware of the situation w. Brooklyn - I did know Russell was returning but I don't think of him as a positive contributor...

    Free Agency 2018

Whats happened to Dinwiddie? Brooklyn was tickled with his play the last I heard. His stats are still good. His shooting isn't stellar but 6.5 ast per game(in 29 min) w. 1.6 TO is great. He ranks above average in defense, too - measured by DPRM. I'd guess we'd have to ship something like the...

    Gambo

Did slin get banned again already? I didn't see anything from him that was worthy of another cooling off period. Something must have happened because his favorite boy Chriss is coming under attack and he's not leaping to his defense...

    What to do with Elfrid

Napier's ast/TO ratio is 1.7, which is well less than Ulis(2.4) and Harrison(2.5). Ferrell his a decent ratio but only 2.5 ast/game in 27.7 minutes - he didn't even make my list of viable options.

    Free Agency 2018

Tyus Jones in not our of the question... he'll be an RFA next year and thanks to Wiggins overly generous contract they have to worry about losing him for nothing. Trading them Ulis and Milwaukee's pick might appeal to them. Jones is really the best of the young PGs as I've detailed already a...

    Free Agency 2018

I imagine VV has been talked about enough that McD is aware of him as an option. We might talk to Toronto to see if they are interested in a sign and trade - they'd probably like TJ if they sould handle his contract. Rather than just make him an offer and have them match it or, more likely...

    Free Agency 2018

I wouldn't be surprised if Lowry is available. Toronto has two backups that are both promising PGs in Vanvleet and Delon Wright. They played 1500 mins each and Vanvleet in particular played at crunch time. If they can move Lowry they can keep both young guys but otherwise they can't afford...

    Free Agency 2018

It would be interesting what Igor has to say about our PGs - I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he is happy to go into the season with Okobo and Harrison. with BK for emergencies. They fit with our timeline and give us some size and defense at the position for the first time in years. Sure...

    What to do with Elfrid

The one point I really want back from last year is Shaq Harrison. I'd guess he is a career backup, but he's 6'4 and an excellent defender. Normally you don't regard steals as an important stat, but when the guys a good defender you do. He led the team in steals per 36 and blocked .7 shots per...

    What to do with Elfrid

VanVleet is the best choice if we are looking for a long term answer. Ast/TO is 3.3, shoots 3's at 41%, top 10 among all PGs in DefensiveRPM. He's a fan favorite and considered to be clutch but Tor has Delon Wright, who's minutes & stats are close and he's 6'5. My guess is they won't match...

Speaking of the picture... is the order from left to right King, Bridges, Ayton, Okobo???

    2018 Draft Grades

He got more mention going into the draft than he has since we drafted him. If Igor is happy to start him, that's all I need to know.

    Current (post draft) Roster

I had Reed marked as a terrific bench guy but he just looked so bad when Triano did put him on the floor at season's end. It could be that he was rushed back too early, but it's also possible he's cooked. I complained all year about Triano giving Peters scant minutes but even so I hope we...

    2018 Draft Grades

Yes. Mainly because he's a better fit for our needs. Also, I have a preference for defensive strength at PG, especially next to Booker. Besides with SGA, McD wouldn't be talking about needing to pick up a PG in free agency. No one on the board has mentioned Okobo but me and I'm thinking McD...

    Now its about #16, 31, and 59

I don't maintain a record of where players were drafted. My guess is that the non first round picks get around 18-23 % of the minutes. About half of what first round picks get. Heck, that could well be a high guess.

2018 NBA Draft Live Discussion Thread

I do not trust Brandon Knight. He's pure Lucy!(from Peanuts) I don't trust Payton either. I think it's a good sign that we drafted Okobo, he's someone that Igor is familiar with and he must like him a good bit since there were several other PGs regarded with comparable expectations. Okobo to...

    2018 Draft Grades

The trade for Bridges put the Suns on a different course - they were not about to draft Zhaire Smith, they were locked on Divencenzo - I'm sure everyone knew that. I didn't hate the idea but I wanted Zhaire because of his D. In Bridges we got even better defense - at least in the short run...

    Welcome to Phoenix, Bridges

We successfully ducked Lonzo in the draft, by dint of picking fourth. Let's not even mention the familial name Ball henceforth. Among other things, the eldest Ball boy set the NBA record shooting FTs among non-centers at .431.

Stephen A. had a rant a day or so ago, saying that Suns ought turn off their phones for any calls about the No. ! pick and draft Ayton.
