Doan agrees to five-year deal with Coyotes

Call me crazy, but I actually think this is too much for Doan. However, it is not a gross overpayment.

    Nagy Traded

The real problem for the Coyotes is the best thing they got in return was a draft pick. We all know how well they draft  I think the only players on the team who were drafted are Doan and Sjostrom. Then again, Doan was drafted when we were the Jets.... so that means years and...

    Nagy Traded

Wasn't it just last offseason that management was talking about how they were going to keep their young core (Comrie, Nagy, Ballard and Z) and build around them? Whoops...

Down on the Farm - 2007 edition

According to BA, he is expected to sign but they do not know when. Also, they said that if he had signed he would have been the #6 prospect for the D'backs. The organization was ranked #4 in the majors even after promoting players like Jackson, Q, and Young.

    2007 UofA baseball

Since baseballamerica didn't include their usual top 100 college players in this year's prospect handbook, I do not know which players in the Pac-10 are worth looking up. I guess I will just have to shell out the good 50 bucks to see the list; that is, if I do not find a site that has a similar...

I am heading to the game tonight with my two roommates (one of which is a Penguins fan). It should be fun.

Dbacks given 72 hour window, these are the players involved in Johnson trade

Hairston has far surpassed the realm of 'potential.' A lot of people forget that he hit 13 homeruns in the majors during the 2004 season.

Dbacks given 72 hour window, these are the players involved in Johnson trade

While we cannot argue that Byrnes was not productive for the money it cost the organization; we are arguing that there is a cheaper and possibly even more productive player who destroyed Triple-A last year. Hairston could come in and produce at the same thershold as Byrnes but does not have...

Dbacks given 72 hour window, these are the players involved in Johnson trade

If Gonzo could throw anywhere near 90 mph, I think that the D'backs would have kept him. Since he could only play the outfield, he became expendable because we have youngsters who would be cheaper and better players than Gonzo would be at this point in his career. Now, the deal for RJ is...

    UofA Offseason Thread

The thing about Bell was that he didn't have great stats, but put up good numbers for his entire college career with a bad O-line. Henry only had a few good games with a poor o-line. Also, Bell is playing in Denver, where Mike Shanahan can make anyone a good running back.

Dbacks given 72 hour window, these are the players involved in Johnson trade

Randy Johnson Trade Re-Visited: Since the Yankees and D'backs have traded RJ to each other, I thought it might be fun to see who came out ahead in the over-all movement of players. On January 5th, 2005 the trade was: Yankees Receive: LHP Randy Johnson D'backs Receive: RHP Javier...

Dbacks given 72 hour window, these are the players involved in Johnson trade

This would be a great trade. RJ gets to get his 300th win as a D'Back as well as creating a solid rotation that could have us competing in the NL West! Vizcaino was a good reliever and Ohlendorf was a decent prospect. However, Ohlendorf really wouldn't be better than a back of the rotation...

    RJ back to Dbacks?

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/unfiltered/?p=119 Personally, I find this article to be ridiculous. First off, it is not luck that his BABIP is higher when runners are on. This is because the infield is shifted when runners are on base, (i.e. if a runner is on first, he will usually be...
