For Those of You Who Continue to Apologize for Sarver

I'm surprised the reality of the NBA is not being discussed. Last year, the following teams had salaries of: Boston - 87.054 LA Lakers - 91.377 Orlando - 82.132 Cleveland - 84.153 San Antonio - 79.157 Dallas - 86.972 Utah - 74.86 Denver - 74.993 Phoenix - 74.927 In the West, only Portand and...

    New Jersey Interested in Boozer

It is interesting that Miami prefers Bosh and NJ prefers Booer. It is stil possible that NY or Chicago would make a max offer, but you have to wonder.

Suns to interview Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey

I don't know, but I'd stay away from him. IMHO Kiki is just another McHale, but with a better jump shot. :D

    Suns 2010 pre-draft workouts

Definitely a BPA sype player. Standing reach is 8.85. Averaged 22.0 ppg on 62% for two but only 33.7% for three. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQFmTAYxc5o&NR=1&feature=fvwp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta2sBoDyyMg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u6QfPU5Tv4 The vidios suggest he's got...

Stop making a Messiah out of Kerr

Obviously, the question of paying Amare is only marginally based on Sarver being cheap. He may be. But the case for not wanting to lock in anybody to a max contract in wake of a new collective bargaining agreement next year and a troubling health history is pretty strong. I would not be...

    Ainge to Phoenix?

Stranger things have happened. IMHO Boston has a narrower window that Phoenix. Pierce born 77 (player option this year, last contract next) Allen born 75 (expiring contract) Garnett born 76 (two more years) Wallace born '74 (two more years) They have some remaining "stars" in Rondo and...

For Those of You Who Continue to Apologize for Sarver

Sarver made the decision to NOT extend JJ in 2004. It was a bad decision and seriouly alienated him. Yes, JJ was a head case, but 2004 decision not to extend made it worse. I'm not sure exactly who made the decision about the Marion for Shaq deal. I've heard Sarver went behind Kerr's back on...

    Will Amare Get The Max?

I apologize for not immediately have all the data. The $56 cap surprises me since the economy has been down. I may have done a crapy job, but at least I try to figure out what is going on rather than just repeat cliches. As I said before, I'm not convinced sign and trade does the Suns much...

    The Riley Amare Job

Hoopshype calls Bosh "average defensive player" . IMHO, Riley is likely to prefer Boozer than neither Amare nor Bosh.

For Those of You Who Continue to Apologize for Sarver

Most people are DEFINED by their first impression and Sarver has not lived down the JJ fiasco. It was not that much later when the KT fiasco came up. Sarver might have got more sympathy if he admitted screwing up, but he never did. Sarver may be a fan in his right, but he's never understood...

    Suns 2010 pre-draft workouts

Obviously, Gortat was not on most team's radar. D'Antoni hated rookies and Gortat was pretty raw. In any case, 2005 had a lot of 2nd guys worth taking (it would have been worth trading up) Brandon Bass CJ Miles Ronny Turiaf Monta Ellis Louis Williams Blatche Gomes Amir Johnson There...

    Will Amare Get The Max?

Most people think Amare will get a max contract offer from someone, so the debate is about whether the Suns should match or walk away. At this point I'm not sure what "the max" means. Some people think the $140 million over 5 years is the Max, but would rather say "max" than $140 million. My...

    About HS Picks

I think you pretty much "get" my point, although my real focus was on bigs. Talented mid sized guys slip through the cracks all the time, but not star level bigs. Lopez may prove to be the exception, but his college career would not have led you to believe he would particularly good.

Tim Donaghy: refs "stick it" to Sarver

It's a valid theory, but I'm not sure the Suns have the type players an all out brawl style works best for.

    ESPN's source: "Amare's gone"

The six plus one was never more than a theoretical construct, so I stopped considering it once the max money debate stared. Yes, he could keep the 2010-2011 money, but this was taking the lenght beyond what even the most pro-Amare guys considered. In any case, it has been obvious that Amare...

    About HS Picks

I was struct by an a oddity in this years "final four" of the NBA, all four teams featured big men drafted straight out of high school. Andrew Bynum - 2005 - #10 pick by LA Lakers Dwight Howard - 2004 - #1 pick Orlando Kendrick Perkins - 2003 - #27 pick by Memphis traded to Boston Amare...

    ESPN's source: "Amare's gone"

I'm not sure what is making your screen go wide, since it doesn't effect mine so I don't know how to fix it. BTW, seven year contracts are a thing of the past. IIRC the most a team can for their own player is 6 and to make an offer to another team is 5.

Tim Donaghy: refs "stick it" to Sarver

It feels like refs are told that calling fouls slows the game down. But the reality is that coaches will keep pushing the edges of the rules to gain an advantage so they still end up calling a lot of fouls.

    ESPN's source: "Amare's gone"

I'm not clear EXACTLY what Amare is asking for. There is a big difference between $90 million and $140 million, yet each could be called max deals. More likely scenerios are in the $120 million range, but this is not the maximum anyone could offer. I'm not quite sure of my numbers, but...
