    Nash: 1-on-1, Marbury's best

One of the interesting aspects of Nash's comments is that his natural modesty lets him set up the criteria for the comparison as "one on one". One of on one, there are maybe three dozen guys who are better than Nash. Maybe more. What that doesn't do is describe how Nash's skill as a floor...

Or that they weren't willing to pay what Ely wanted or give up what Charlotte requested - most likely both.

Any truth to Jumaine Jones rumour?

I'll take your word for it, but I hope there is more to him than the Suns attraction to JJ's. :)

Any truth to Jumaine Jones rumour?

I'm still having trouble understanding what Jumaine Jones is about. I'm not saying he can't play, just that his stats don't jump out and say "this guy is going to be great pickup". Last season he averaged 10.5 ppg, but shot only 40.5% from the field and 34.3% for three. He averaged 4.9 rpg...

Leandro Developing a Mid Range Game

I agree that improving his court awareness is significant. For most of his career, it was simply a foot race to the basket and he was totally focused on the help defender. In a few rare situations he spotted the open man, but nothing like he should. This becomes even more important if defenders...

    Pacers acquire Harrington from Hawks

Of course if they tanked this year and next, then the Suns could get the number one pick. OK, probably not. ;)

Leandro Developing a Mid Range Game

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/0823sunsnb0823.html Last season Leadnro averaged 13.1 ppg in 27.9 minutes or .485 ppm, despite having a minimal mid range game. If he adds a mid range game, the MLE type contract he just signed could look like a bargain. Last year Leandro was...

    Amare's New Trainer

Gee, are you telling me the sky ISN'T falling? :D I think Brad Miller following the team USA tryouts had it right when he said that Amare at 80% is still one of the best power forwards in the NBA. The reports were that he was looking very good and this was not while playing against a bunch...

    FOAMY FINGER Moves to Phoenix

My point is that while the team has made some odd moves like trading the 27 for cash, it is no worse than taking pick that failed. Yet Sarver gets bashed over and over for not taking a guy they did not expect to even make the roster. BC clearly passed on some guys who could have helped when...

    FOAMY FINGER Moves to Phoenix

I'm not sure what is expected of Sarver at this point. David Griffin may have suggested the Suns couldn't afford Ely, but we don't really know what the deal was supposed to be. The very fact that Grif was talking suggests they aren't just sitting around waiting for the waiver wire to fill up...

    Pacers acquire Harrington from Hawks

The Hawks would be top three pick bad in the West, but in the East they may surprise. Fortunately for the Suns, they still have the same coach.

    Barbs performance today..

Turkey is supposed to be pretty good. Their real problem was that they lost to a very weak New Zealand team first up. The sad part is that the Brazilian team hasn't had much time together this summer to get ready, although several played on last year's team.

    Harrington Deal Falls Through

Seeing George Gervin in actions live is still one of my favorite memories. It's too bad he never played on championship level team. He was an amazing player: 26.2 ppg, 51.1% shooting, 4.6 rpg. He ended up with 20,708 career points. http://www.nba.com/history/players/gervin_bio.html

The Second Best Olympic Team of All Time

If he was referring to the 1984 team, Leon (?) Woods played PG and did well. One the 1960 team, I doubt anyone knew whether Jerry West or Oscar Robertson was the PG or whether it mattered.

    Harrington Deal Falls Through

It's funny how terms like franchise player and super star get used so much they lose meaning. Rather than worry about it, I was wondering how many players REQUIRE double team attention on a regular basis. Kobe, T-Mac, KG, Amare, and maybe a half dozen others. I don't see enough games to know how...

    Free Agent Update

For bottom of the rotation guy, Alan Henderson is a real possibility. At .259 rebounds per minute (with Dallas he had .29 per minute), he's above average on the boards. Unlike Evans, he might be willing to play short minutes. My main concern is his health. He only played 6 games 03-04.

    Harrington Deal Falls Through

Running an NBA franchise is in itself a game. Except in NY and Dallas, teams try to put together a championship team by buying players capable of winning it all without exceeding the luxury tax or going just above it. Every player is evaluated by whether what that guy can do can reasonably be...

    Free Agent Update

With Loren Woods and Scot Pollard signing this week along with confirmations of the Wilcox and Gooden deals, the list of available "bigs" has dropped substantially. What has changed is the market price of the remaining guys. Al Harrington - He's asking for $57 million over six years (sign and...

    Harrington Deal Falls Through

Presumably a draft pick is considered "something" to them. Teams working on sign and trade deals always have to start from what the player's agent has set up. Let's say the Warriors are willing to pay the price, the next step is to find trading pieces the Hawks want - not just "something"...
