    Eddie Johnson files lawsuit

It was not that hard to check the facts in this case. If anything, the internet makes it a lot easier because you don't have to run to the library. One of the reasons newspapers are considered more reliable than talk show host is that they have the time to check their facts. Talk show guys...

    Tonights Game FYI

I'm disappointed that Banks has not been as effective from the start, but it is still early days. My suspicion is that he's trying too hard which often leads to guys tightening up. He may need just one or two good games to get his rhythm. I'm more concerned that the Suns seem to be having so...

Republic: Amaré makes strides in victory

Jumaine shot almost 40% for three with the Lakers, but was in the mid 30's with Charlotte. He's expected to shoot better with the Suns than the Bobcats because of getting more open looks.

    Boris Isn't the Only One...

Howard is the key to the Mavs chances this season. Dirk is a great on offense, but he's not enough if they don't play above average defense and Howard is their best defender. But he's not 7 foot tall.

Kaman - $50 million over five years

It amazes me how how the price of center's is so far out of line compared to other positions. Kaman can score on a team that has Brand to attract a lot of attention, but he's terribly slow.

    Boris Isn't the Only One...

I'd have to think this was a negotiating pose on Cuban's part, but it also reflects the reality of RFA status. There are only so many teams with above the MLE money and few of them are going to waste their time going after a guy with an offer that can be easily matched. The JJ situation was...

The potential worst trade the Suns have ever made.

The second pick was a roster slot issue. D'Antoni wanted veterans on the deep bench rather than projects. That may be short sighted, but hardly irrational.

    Is It The Ball?

I didn't see the video, but I'm told the Suns had a lot of turnovers and missed layups. Perhaps it was because the ball was slippery. The initial player reactions to the new ball have been universally bad. So bad in fact that Stern has said he will "look into it". My suspicion is that the...

    Suns in 2006-07

The importance of preseason games is far from clear. For bad teams, winning is a big deal because they need to prove they can win. For top teams, experimenting with player combinations and doing new stuff is more important than a meaningless victory. Still, it would be nice if the Suns showed...

    Rasheed Wallace Beware!

It's probably not a bad rule, but I wish they policed the refs to get rid of the wild inconsistency on the calls.

Going to be watching today's Sixers' game?

I know this is going to sound like an excuse, but I wonder if the ball started to get slippery later in the game. That was what Shaq was concerned about and Stern says he's looking into it.

Off days are key for Amaré - The Arizona Republic

Absolutely. I don't much care if Amare is ready by Oct 31. I want him to get healthy and not risk injury just to prove he's tough.

    Suns in 2006-07

In 2004-05, the Suns were remarkably injury free until JJ got hurt. Last year was pretty bad, but mostly because it was all in the same position - center (Amare, Grant, and KT) before Bell got hurt. I hope the Suns don't need to go deep into the roster this year, but I'm encouraged that they...

James Jones and the second unit

With both James Jones and KT, the reports are that they are in much better condition than last year with Jones really working on his lower body strength. That's the kind of thing that makes me think this team will be a lot better, the players know what to expect and what they have to do to be...

    Sports Tonight: Amare Stoudemire

Is it any wonder that he's one of the most intimidating players in the NBA. Maybe if he took his shirt off before the game... :notworthy

    He says he's ready

About a week back there was a thread discussing how the Suns would do if Amare didn't play at all. D'Antoni said he thought the team could win 55-60 games. Since then the reports about how good KT and James Jones have looked when added to the new guys and this looks like a very good team. I'd...

    Suns in 2006-07

At this point in the season, it is easier to predict number of wins. The Suns have not had much luck in terms of health during the playoffs, so it is hard to say more than that they have a real shot. BTW, I'm predicting 60 wins.

Off days are key for Amaré - The Arizona Republic

I would much rather Amare take his time and make sure he's ready than to get pushed and end up straining stuff and lose even more time.

    Amare misses another practice

I'm almost inclined to start a poll to determine how many people blame the Suns for Amare's knee problems, Amare for not playing with pain, or simply believe that it takes different people different amounts of time to heal. Count me in the last category.

Shaq No Fan of the New Ball

According to Shaq, you try "Toys R Us". The sad thing is that I think they were right about dealing with the ball, the problem was that their solution wasn't really appropriate. If they'd asked me, I would have recommended: 1. Custome break in all balls prior to use, the way they treat...

    Thoughts on the Scrimmage

Welcome aboard. Teams are always trying to slow the pace down against the Suns, but it is a two edged sword. Slowing the pace means taking longer before taking a shot, which reduces the number of easy shots. The only effective way to slow down the Suns is to hit all your shots. Missing...
