    House of the Dead

Just thought I'd give everybody a head's up that this cinematic masterpiece will be on video store shelves tomorrow (Jan 27). If you want to see the absolute worst movie ever made, now's your chance to do so for fairly cheap (although you'll still want your money back).

    Movie-A-Day #106: Nosferatu (1922/29)

Stands out as the first great horror film IMO. Still required viewing for anyone who wants to know how to make an effective horror film (and judging from some recent entries, not many new directors have taken lessons from it). Unbelievably atmospheric for a silent film. Great choice! P.S...

    Along Came Polly

Not bad. Definitely not much more than a by-the-numbers romantic comedy but the performances carry the flick. Hank Azaria, Alec Baldwin, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman steal every scene they're in. What's sad is I would probably lose a game of basketball to Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character.

    Movie-A-Day #105: The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)

I was going to say yesterday that you had to put this in if you were going to do a vampire week. Great choice. Funny, funny movie for those who are students of vampire legend and movies.

    ESPN senior bowl reports

Maybe he'll slip out of the first few rounds and be there when we pick third. I think he'd be worth a pick as a project QB. He certainly has the tools, and our QB coach seems like he could turn this kid into a stud QB while McCown starts.

    Movie-A-Day #104: Shadow Of The Vampire (2000)

I really liked this movie except for the presence of Cary Elwes. His German accent in this movie is on record as the worst accent I've ever seen in a movie. Luckily the performances of Dafoe and Malkovich balance it out.

What Bands Have You Been Listening To Lately?

Right now it's a mix of; Catherine Wheel Stroke 9 Bruce Springsteen Fuel Guiltiest pleasure of the moment is Darkness. I can't decide if it's crappy retro 80's hair metal or genius mockery. Either way I can't stop listening. Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers new cd is excellent.

    Movie-A-Day #103: The Lost Boys

This is one of my favorites (go figure). I love rewatching it for 80's value. Man, did everyone really think they looked good with those haircuts!?! The vampire attack on the cabin in the film's climax stands out as one of my favorite sequences ever. Three words - death by radio. And this...

Salisbury To Announce Decision Today (1/16)

If you heard his voice you'd wonder who the hell would give that little mullethead a show. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that somebody still steals his lunch at work.

    Hitman 2 - Silent Assassin

When I first started playing this I was really frustrated with the stealth modes (I've never been any good at avoiding detection). So I started playing as a one-man hit team and I liked it a lot more. Something satisfying about getting home from a crappy day at work and wiping out every...

    Brokeback Mountain

If his American films are any indication, Ang Lee is much better suited to drama than he is to action (I say this because while CTHD had some excellent action sequences, it was not an action movie per se while the Hulk should have been an action movie and instead tried to follow CTHD's format)...

Take one guess where I'm gonna be on Saturday :O

    Bubba Ho-Tep

There was a thread on this a while back but it's been outdated so I'll start a new one. Got to see this one over the weekend in Tucson (anybody reading this living in southern AZ, it's playing at the Loft until Friday). Those of you not in the know, Bubba Ho-Tep is the story of an...

Until We Have Some Real News...Caption This!

Those who don't make it as cheerleaders, don't worry - we've also got one job opening for a head coach, and Mr. Davis informed me that any boob will do.

A comment on Dennis Green from a former player

The race comment is interesting but I think there were probably several other factors in the number of white players on the team. I don't foresee any problems here. Garcia getting trashed and lewd in front of women? Sounds like someone's overcompensating for something :O

    Anyone ever see "May"?

Loved it so much I bought it. Definitely not for everyone but it really intrigued me. The first time I saw it I thought it was kind of slow, but after contemplating it I realized it was really just a methodical slow burn of a character study. Angela Bettis deserves to be acclaimed for her...

    Mona Lisa's Smile

I agree. Not as much of a ripoff of Dead Poets Society as I thought it'd be - it just wasn't a very well-developed movie. I went to see it mainly for Maggie Gyllenhall (sp). She may be smoking too much lately or something cause in this movie she had a horrible case of BJL going on around her...

    Underworld

This movie gets worse with each viewing. I watched it again (2nd time) with my cousin and I couldn't believe I had enjoyed it the first time out. Made me thankful I'd rented Tremors 4 to ease the pain :O

    McCown...

I still would like to draft a QB, just not until rounds 2-3. We'll have supplemental picks, let's use one on a developmental project (which let's face it, all QB's in the draft are anyway). McCown is a scrapper and will get better with a training camp as a starter.

    Movie-A-Day #97: Private Parts

I could basically cut and paste your post to say my reservations about the movie and my pleasant surprise at how good it was. Just watched it again the other day, as a matter of fact. While I was impressed with his devotion to his wife, I also figured it was just a matter of time before she...
