It's early but this probably isn't the draft you want to have the #1 pick for trading purposes because there's no clear cut #1.

QB- Brady Quinn(maybe Brian Brohm if he comes out)
RB- Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch(rumors he might stay are surfacing)
Wr- Calvin Johnson

Personally, I believe that Calvin Johnson is the best player in college football. With his size, speed and hands I think he'll have a Randy Moss like impact as soon as he enters the NFL.

Figures first game I watched of his he got shutout(last game they played). I only saw part of the game but saw later he never got a pass, they were doubling him all over the field.

But in highlights he sure looks "Moss-like".

I tell everyone he's a cross between Moss and Holt. He's just amazing and keep in mind that he has another WR throwing him the ball. Reggie Ball is an amazing athlete that will be playing on Sundays, just not as a QB. As a freshman he single handedly destroyed Syracuse in a bowl game. I've been so impressed with him that I've been rooting for SF to win enough games to be out of position to draft him because the thought of him in our division terrifies me.

The 2001 Carolina Panthers did it.

the similarities are eerie too....

George Seifert, successful with the Niners was coach, yet unimpressive with Carolina....just like Denny with AZ

started rookie Heisman QB (Weinke)......Leinart 2K6

also, it seems that 1-15 records happen in 5's.

1996, Keyshawn's rookie year, Jets got 1-15

2001, Carolina wins one in the summer-loses rest

2006, Cards possibly on their way?

shame there's no Peppers in this draft....Moses and Adams dont approach his talent level

Phoenix/west side!!!
Adrian Peterson in the 1st round securing the future at RB..... then all OL in the rest of the draft & free agency...... also cut Oliver Ross..... He either sucks beyond belief or is out of position.......Move Ross & Davis to guards since they are too slow to handle the speed rushers... then if they can't play there cut them and get some athletic OL...... pretty simple concept.. bigger is not always better.... the denver OL consistently dominates, mirror their situation and we have a great offense.....

i think the cardinals need to get someone to teach them technique and get a real strength coach. i never seen an offensive line that size get pushed around that much.

This team is massively underachieving, so it's tough for me to imagine them doing so all the way to 1-15. I say we win at least 3, probably 4. If the draft class is as weak as many say, it may be just as well. I don't want the Cards paying top 5 money to a player that wouldn't be there in a different year.

Are there any O-linemen on the FA market this year?

Add Troy Smith to the QB list. He's better than Quinn and will be off the board before him.

He's too short to be drafted that high. The only other QB that size to go that high was Vick and while Smith is a good athlete, he's not close to Vick in terms of speed or arm strength.

NFL teams don't like short QB's.

I figure Quinn or brohm as locks for the first QB picked.

How short is Smith? Maybe it's just my Ohio State homerism. He's got a cannon for an arm, though, and is extremely accurate.

Listed at 6'1", but apparently shorter than that.

CBUS would probably know but that's been the biggest knock on him is his size. Great player at the college level for sure.

He should just get lifts then. Like Mickey did in Seinfeld.

There's no way we get the #1 pick. Just never happens for us.

If we had the #1 pick, the value of the pick would drop since we couldnt bluff anyone into thinking we were taking Quinn. We'd probably get pennies on the dollar.

Yes, I have gone over to the dark side.

While it would be clear that we wouldn't be interested in, say a QB, with the number 1 pick, it would not diminish the trade value. Their would be at a lot of teams interested in trading up for a QBOF and a bidding war could very well occur.

Detroit (Kitna) and Miami (Culpepper....even if he can rehab to close to 100%, he's definitely on the downside of his career) Baltimore (McNair....see Culpepper) Minnesota (Johnson) Dallas (is Romo a legit starter?) Buffalo (Losman isn't the answer) are teams in real need of a long term solution at QB.

If Quinn can finish with a flurry, he'll get a lot of attention trust me.

Like Alex Smith did? San Francisco couldn't sell that pick, and there'll likely be at least two guys who qualify as QBs of the Future for some franchise. Even in the 2004 draft, it was clear that Eli Manning was the premire prospect at the position.

There has to be a buyer for every seller, and with a draft class this thin, unless someone really wants a wide receiver (and WR is probably the position in the NFL where there's a glut of talent), I don't expect that the Cards are going to be able to trade down for better than 70 cents on the dollar.

Detroit passed on Leinart for a linebacker. Do you really think they're going to give up 2 #1s for a guy who was far less accomplished at the lower level?

We will need to pick Quinn because with Wells and Ross being options to protect Matt he will be eating with straw before the season is over (oh wait... I think the season IS over)... either way..."with the first pick of the 2007 NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals pick Brady Quinn... their NEXT QBOF.

This something my bro (Redrage) and I have talked about in the past. How many times have the Cards been bad, but not bad enough to snag the top pick?

We are so pathetic we can't even be the worst team in the league any year.
