I agree. I love the idea of a pass first pg like Ball, but I would like to be a bit more confidence in his defense. More evaluation would be needed there.

Fultz is probably the better option if he can play better D. I would just hate for him to take away from Booker's scoring.

I like Jackson for this Sun's team, but there is at least a small concern about off the court issues. Still, he could really be a jack-of-all trades glue guy--kind of a Scottie Pippen type, which would be good.

Tatum just seems to be too much like TJ to add that much to this team.

For me, a quality defender is a priority.

Fultz has not been a great defender either, but he appears to have all of the tools. He also imho has the tools to be an elite distributor. It's just unclear if he has the mindset to be an elite distributor because of the limitations of his college team.

Here's where i am. Jackson might be better for "this" team... but this team SUCKS... and it sucked before we started truly tanking. Sure, Jackson would fill a hole really well at the 3, which will make them better, but is he THAT big of a difference maker where he's a transformative player? I don't think he is and we're still missing one more piece like that to put alongside Booker to really get this team to the future, imo.

Fultz and Ball have the potential to transform a team with this much talent... and then gives us a GREAT asset in Bledsoe to get even better.

Today in the azcentral there is an excellent article explaining the lottery odds written by Jeremy Cluff. It is well worth the read. However, after reading the article one realizes how fragile the draft order can be.

Below is a passage from the article.

The Nets (16-57) currently have the worst record in the NBA (but the Celtics will get their pick). They have a 25 percent chance at the No. 1 overall pick, a 21.5 percent chance at No. 2, a 17.7 percent chance at No. 3 and a 35.9 percent chance at No. 4.

The Lakers (21-52) have the second-worst record in the league. They have a 19.9 percent chance of landing the top pick in the lottery, an 18.8 percent chance at No. 2, a 17 percent chance at No. 3. Their pick is top-3 protected. If it falls to No. 4 (31.8 percent chance) or No. 5 (12.5 percent chance) it goes to the 76ers.

The Suns (22-52), who have the third-worst mark in the NBA, have a 15.6 percent chance at No. 1, a 15.7 percent chance at No. 2, a 15.5 percent chance at No. 3, a 22.4 percent chance at No. 4, a 26.6 percent chance at the No. 5 pick in the draft and a 4.1 percent chance at No. 6.

Its basically a 47% chance of a 1-3 pick. If we end up picking 4th or 5th, the thing we will be most ticked about is who the team is that jumps us for the better pick.

I agree.

Many Suns fans are looking forward to the lottery as a chance for the Suns to stay the same or move up in the draft whereas there is a real chance the Suns could move back in the draft.

Did I ever say I hate watching the lottery live for this reason?

Do they do the lottery in the open these days or is it still being rigged behind closed doors?

For some reason I really hope the suns don't drop to 5th pick. Not that there still isn't good talent there it's just I want them to have the "choice" more if that makes sense.

I'm thinking it is still done behind closed but we get to see the results live after-the-fact. :titanic:

Yup. We all want the Suns to get the player they prefer rather than have the choice dictated by other teams.

However, it worked with Devin Booker. The Suns got their research right on him.

with insight like that what are wasting your time on this board for? A GM role surely awaits!

This is a message board, im pretty sure that's what people do, give their opinion. Why the utter and complete douchebag response?

Wait, let me get this right.

Everybody wants the Suns to get the highest possible pick so they'll get their choice of available players?

I agree that this is a really good and awesome idea. Stay golden Pony Boy.

The sarcasm is downright sticky in here right now.

I think the 2nd pick will be better in this draft than the 1st if only because there is a lot of pressure for a team to hit a home run with the #1 pick, while with #2 or #3 they can focus more on getting the player they like for the team best rather than the best overall player. I think Fultz will be #1 this year and I'm not sure he fits that well with the makeup of our roster.

Because nobody in their right mind thinks he'll be a bust - with a game like his he just can't be! But if you want to stick to your douche comment (douche because you imply you know better than everyone) I'll bet you a dollar amount of your choosing if I'm wrong, payable after 5 years.

And in saying that, it reminds me of my draft power ranking competition from last year (that flopped due to lack of interest..maybe I explained it badly..)

Yeah it sounds obvious I know but in this draft in particular there seems to be a broad base of talent and no clear #1. As a matter of fact the top three or four could be very interchangeable in where they end up.

This draft seems pretty fluid right now.

Emotions are running high. You got the excitement of the draft and fans getting sick of losing. Then you got a very talented draft where everyone thinks they got the answer to the suns prayers.

Does that about cover it??
