That was back in the day of Chuck and Vince in the morning on 910. That was the funniest show I've ever heard. I used to hope for traffic in the mornings, so I could listen longer.
They are still on but on the FM side. They are on 103.9 as the morning show.

Also the reason 1060AM repeats commercials is because their shows book their own comercials and has nothing to do with low power. If the show only books a certain amount of comercials they have to repeat them.

The factors are related, although certainly no always. On KFNX AM 1100, the show's advertising is sold by the people producing the show even though it is a 50,000 watt station.

Back to Hunter, I am sure the waiver period is only a day or so.

I really think that I read somewhere that Hunter's contract would be guaranteed for the rest of the season if he stayed on the team roster after Aug 15th. I cannot imagine the Cavs cutting him if they were going to be paying his salary anyway.

I'm pretty sure the waiver claiming period is either 48 or 72 hours... I'd say 72 if I had to pick one or the other.

Ten days in this case.

Thanks for the clarification elindholm. I actually did try to look it up but all I could find out from a different source was a reference to a 48 hour waiting period. Since there was some conflicting data, I thought someone out there might know the correct answer.

"There is also a fee of $1,000, payable to the league office, for claiming a waived player."

That cracks me up. What's the 1 grand for? Filing the paperwork?

The long waiver period prior to Aug 15th is interesting. I have to admit I can't remember it coming up before. BTW, can waivers be revoked within the time period?

If they're waiting on Hunter, then I hope they have an agreement with him already.

At this rate, even Corie Blount and Scott Williams will be gone within the next ten days.

If they're paying only the minimum, they could add two players; negotations with Blount wouldn't have to be on hold pending a Hunter resolution. But I know what you mean.

My guess is that if they had any interest in Blount, they would have gotten him already, and that they expect Williams will be there for the taking at the end.

The long waiver period prior to Aug 15th is interesting.

And it creates the strange situation in which a player waived on Aug. 14th doesn't come off waivers until after someone who is waived a few days later does.

I don't know whether waivers can be revoked. I confess I didn't read the entire paragraph from the FAQ, but it might say.

Gambo and Ash said yesterday that the Suns will add Scott Williams in the next few days to a minimum deal.

He also went on to say again that if Hunter clears waivers he will sign for the vet minimum. (We have all heard that one again).

Sounds pretty realistic to me

Can we make Williams a Player Coach? Like Tree Rollins did for all those years. I wonder if he would still count against the cap??

You have to be a coach or player. Not both.

Larry Coon said:
Incidentally, with the new CBA they did away with the ability for players to become player-coaches. This is because it would be possible to circumvent the cap by signing a player as a player-coach, and paying him less as a player but overpaying him as a coach.

It doesn't matter, once you are over the cap it's just money. For Scott, most of it is paid the NBA anyway since he is a 10 vet.
