From Yahoo:

"Dan Wetzel's Round 1 Analysis - Round 1 - Read All Analysis

– ESPN claims Phoenix sold its pick for cash to Portland? What? The team is trying to get over the hump and win the NBA Championship and it just sells a pick? Wow, what a way to tell your fans you care. How are the Suns not making enough money to pop over the salary cap a little? Or at least get a deferred selection. They need money? With all the cash out in Scottsdale they couldn't have just raised the courtside seats a couple of bucks. Perhaps there is an explanation for this. Sounds bad though. - 9:56 pm EDT "

gonna be Tucker at #29

I hope the Spurs pick him just to piss off the Suns front office. Of course the Spurs will likely get Splitter who will likely end up hurting the Suns for years to come.

We need a fricken PG to back Nash. If we draft Tucker, we will have a limpy Nash in the play-offs again. Not good.

OMG this is the worst possible scenario. I can't take this.

Alando Tucker
Small Forward (Rank: #41) | 6-5, 205 | Age: 23
Wisconsin ()
Hometown: Lockport, IL

Draft Projection: Late first to early second

Positives: Excellent athlete with explosive leaping ability. Strong. Aggressive around the basket. Works his way to the basket and is a good finisher around the rim. Has developed a decent midrange jumper. Excellent, physical defender.

Negatives: Lacks reliable perimeter skills. Not much range from three-point line. Below- average free throw shooter. Not a great ballhandler. Undersized for his position.

Summary: A power forward in a two guard's body. Had an excellent season for Wisconsin, but questions about his fit in the NBA continue to hurt his stock. On the first-round bubble, but teams are intrigued.

They could have signed Paul McPherson for the veteran minimum if they wanted a power forward in a guard's body who can't shoot.

This guy sounds absolutley NOTHING like a Phoenix player. Can't shoot. No handles. About the only way he fits in is by being a small player.

You mean other than the fact that we still have Nash, Marion, LB and Amare and might be signing Grant Hill? Yeah, not too bright...

I'll be the first to admit as Suns fans we are spoiled, but we have MAYBE a two year window to win a championship. Nash is still good, but athletes in their 30's tend to decline fast. The Suns as of today are no better than they were last year, and as stated, Nash is one year older. If he goes down, we are a .500 team. Is the team cheap? No, but the chance to be champions will be gone by 2009 unless they start planning for the future.

Barbosa and Amare are the only players that will still be producing at a high level for the Suns in 3 years. The Suns haven't had a draft pick in 4 years and they are expected to get better?

Suns couldn't convince John Salmons to sign here last year but all of the sudden Hill and Brown are going to come in for the minimum. I'll believe it when I see it.
