Why is Cowgill playing? This guy has proved he is not a major league player.

Agree. He's horrible, he could be in single A and he'd get benched for standing there with the bat on his shoulder. That was a batting practice pitch...

I'm trying to stay positive about this team but man, do we look exposed on this trip or what.:bang:

With the corporate sponsors taking over baseball, didja hear that Kimberly-Clark has purchased the rights to naming of the D'backs batters box and will call it the Kleenex Batters Box . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Pops up one at a time. :)

Man......... runners on 2nd and 3rd with one down. Roberts meekly grounds out to 3rd base, runners hold. Overbay flies out to end the inning.
Thru 4, we have 3 k's and 1 hit. Sounds about right I guess.... :bang:

Sean Burroughs hits a 2-run homer to stop the scoreless streak. 2-0 Diamondbacks.

Actually, Henry Blanco broke the scoreless streak last night.

A 39-year old backup Catcher with a solo HR.

And a utility infielder with his first major league home run in six years. (His last came off the D'backs in 2005.)

Let's not get our hopes up just yet. I would feel much better seeing our regulars putting together singles and doubles instead of subs hitting a couple of HR's every lunar cycle.

P.S.: With both teams being warned about throwing at batters, then Upton getting a contusion, was any action taken against the Nationals? I missed those few minutes of the game.

Awesome performance by Kennedy, Hernandez and Putz.

Yes, our hitting is still very concerning but man I'm fired up about what our pitchers did today! Talk about putting the team on your back when they are struggling.

Kennedy battled for 7 innings and slammed the door every single time the Nationals got something going. Dude was a beast today. 6 hits 8 strikeouts

Then Hernandez comes in and dominates the 8th inning 3up3down.

Then JJ comes in and is a little rusty at first, but then shakes off the rust, 3up3down.

It was just awesome how good those guys today. They simply weren't gonna be denied.

You cant expect your pitching staff to be that good all the time but that was just a case of leaders on this team saying; "give us 1 run tonight, that's it."

Hopefully that can re-ignite the fire under these hitters.

Interesting fact I saw on twitter Diamondbacks are one of two teams to not losing after leading in the 8th going 63-0. Thats an impressive number.

Seriously 82? Meekly gounds out?

That was a LASER shot that Zim had to dive for. It was a well hit ball with unfortunate results.

Giants lose, though the freakin Padres tried to choke away a 4-0 lead.

Back to 2 games up.

Hudson has gone 8 2/3 shutout innings, then gives up back-to-back homers.

Get him outta there

All is well, JJ ate him up in 2 pitches.

Still a FANTASTIC outing by Hudson. Very big props to our #1 and #2 pitchers for picking this team up when they were struggling.

Big win Dbacks, good job.

Agreed - I know Gibby wanted the complete game out of him, but pulling him for JJ was the right thing to do.

great pitching all around!

8 runs in the game sounds more like it. Stupid losing streak dropped us from 5th to 12th in the league in total runs.
