I didn't see it, but I just heard that the Diamondbacks pitchers plunked three guys after Upton got hit (again). That is awesome!

There was no way that was intentional... nice story to drum up, but, ain't no way Gibby would hit 3 guys in the 9th inning with so much riding on the game.

They all got hit in the 9th? Wasn't Upton hit in the 5th or somewhere around there?

Upton was hit in the bottom of the 6th. All 3 Rockies were hit in the top of the 9th...

I agree with you guys, then. Shoulda been the first three pitches of the top of the 7th.

They should have put the pitcher in right field for the first pitch and let Upton throw at the first guy up. Upton gets kicked out, you bring the starter back in. Problem solved. ;)

Yep. None were intentional. To be more clear: Tulo got hit in the "hand". Every replay I saw I couldn't see it. Must have barely grazed him. Ianetta got hit. The third guy (forget who) didn't get his BACK foot out of the way (to give you an idea where that pitch was). Again, watched every replay and I swear that ball bounced off the ground and never touched him.

If there is to be retaliation it hasn't happened yet.

FWIW- sometimes the payback isn't until the next series or even the next season. I know some Nationals are still due a good drilling.

Actually, Ianetta was the last one hit. It was Kouzmanoff who was the 2nd guy hit...

I doubt there will be any retaliation... unless the Rockies hit another one of our guys - particularly Justin. If J-Up gets hit again, we might actually see him charge the mound!

Gibby shaking things up a bit as Young, Goldy and Roberts all out of the line-up tonight. Love the CY benching by the way! :D

lol when anyone else sits it's a day off but for CY you call it a benching. Side note: I'm going to tomorrow's game so Goldschmidt had better be in the lineup.

Now, that's creative. But perhaps a little obvious to the umps. :)

Great catch by Upton and Parra once again gets it done. Miley has not pitched badly so far. 3-2 in the 5th.

Montero with a 3-run screaming home run. 6-2 Diamondbacks in the 6th and the Cubs are beating the Giants 3-0.:)

I don't want to get ahead but the Diamondbacks are only four games behind the Brewers. If they could pass them that would be huge.

Would be pretty awesome, though wouldn't it? LOL. I'd buy a Gibson jersey if he did that.

If somebody in April had said that the Dbacks would be six games up with a few weeks to go when their rotation consisted of guys like Collmenter and Miley, and their infield was Goldschmidt (who wasn't well known at the time), Hill, Bloomquist, and Roberts, you'd think they were insane. Amazing what this team is doing right now.

It would be awesome up until the league gave him the 5 game pitcher suspension for intentionally hitting a batter (thereby instigating a brawl).

They can feasibly pass both Milwaukee (4 games) and Atlanta (3 games) if they stay hot, but it would mean winning a lot (95 wins?). I wouldn't mind playing a home-advantaged series vs Atlanta...

You can't expect an outfielder to have great control. It would just be "one that got away". ;)

If the division's been clinched, anyway, five days off won't hurt.
