That got a little too interesting but otherwise a well played game, another solid outing by Miley.

Good job crapping your shorts Micah Owings.

Give the guy a break. He hasn't pitched in over a week and is allowed to have an off night. Micah has pitched extremely well this season, pitching middle relief and keeping the team in games.

If it wasn't for the horrible base running, they would of scored probably three more runs.

What sucks is it looks like the Brewers are going to win.

Even after that, he still has a 3.20 ERA. I think he'll be fine.
Miley is coming along OK. Holding them to two runs when you don't have your Major League game down yet is quite an accomplishment, even against the Rockies and especially in their thin air.

I had forgotten which Major League baseball city was second to Denver in altitude. It is Phoenix! Someone should remind those who vote for Cy Young about that.

4 runs given up in the 8th by David Hernandez.

Hopefully we can get some runs back in the 9th.

Is tonight's game a flashback from a game from last year?

Giants won so the magic number remains at 15. What stinks is the Brewers lost tonight.

Last nights game was a punch in the gut. So used to winning that losses like that hurt my feelings.
Coupled with our tremendous success game after game, it is easy to brush this one aside. It happens to the best of teams.

The thing to watch is our bullpen meltdowns two games in a row. But there is no reason to believe that they are getting weary. I am going to believe that it is not the start of a trend until, hopefully not, proven otherwise.

Definitely not a case of being "weary"... Hernandez simply didn't have it last night. It happens. Last night, he couldn't keep his fast ball down in the zone and he seemed to be throwing way more off-speed pitches than normal (which was probably due to the fact that he couldn't locate his fast ball).

Nothing to be concerned about. I'm sure Nady was in his ear last night and today. It was simply location issues...

I'm guessing the rain was probably an issue too. Regardless I give Hernandez a pass on that one. It happens. We win tonight then its still a series win and we're still rollin.

JJ locks it down in the ninth to preserve the 5-3 win powered by Upton and Montero dingers. I love Gracies description of the showdown with Gumby - "two pachyderms ready to go at it".

I despise the Phillies but I would love to see them take at least three games from the Brewers this weekend. After see CY's stats after his injury, I would hope Gibson sits him out so he can get a little better for the playoffs.

YES seriously, I honestly had no idea how much CY's thumb was bothering him until it flared up the other day. I guess it's been bothering him for a while, which explains alot.

Gibby should just sit him a good while so he can heal up. We're goin to the playoffs and we need a healthy CY when we get there.

Diamondbacks win 4-1 and now the magic # is 12! Only 1.5 behind Milwaukee.

Went to the game tonight and FINALLY got to see Kennedy pitch in person. Man that guy is good.

GO DBACKS

PS there were fewer people at the game tonight than were at the last game I went to which was the last home series against the Rockies.... Sigh :(

There is so much room in the upper deck and those tickets are dirt cheap. I sat directly behind home plate last night in the 8th row (Sec 316) and the ticket was $14. Probably coulda got it cheaper from a scalper.

We should have an ASFN night one of these days where everyone that is interested grabs up the tickets in a section. Might be fun to get together and watch some baseball.

That is a great idea. A D'backs game (would we qualify for a scoreboard announcement?) and meeting ASFN guys and gals.

When you see me developing laryngitis rooting for our team, you'll see why I get so frustrated with our popup stubbornness sometimes.

If not Arizona Sports Fan Network, who?

Count me in. What do you say, Mods?
