Various statistical analyses have demonstrated that Bryant is, contrary to reputation, a below-average "clutch" shooter among the league's stars. They float around the major sports websites every year or two, and people quickly forget about them because it's much easier to stick with a popular myth than it is to adjust one's thinking to actual data.

So you've seen multiple stats that say Kobe sucks in the clutch and you think people are stupid. Why not just say that?

Long winded you are. :yoda:

Right. Talk about insulting the intelligence of the board. Pot, meet kettle.

Right? Should have just thrown up a shot instead of trying to kick it out from the rack through the middle of the D. I expect the corner kickout, but top of the key kick? No way in hell that gets there, ever.

Pau's foul at the end was dumb with a capital F.

Good lord the Lakes are a lazy effing team.

Lakers in 6. Good to see Cuban celebrate like they just won a chip.
Pau was probably wondering why he was trying to guard dirk on an inbound before he realized what happened. Yes it was dumb, but that's what happens when you are out of your comfort zone.

It was good to see cuban celebrate...i agree with you there.

happily wrong!

I know, right? Wasn't it great to see the Lakers go down in LA? Let's hope to see more of that. Unfortunately, you can never count those guys out. The Mavs need to give them a knock out punch. It's not going to be easy. Lakers have been here before. (Like last round. ;))

Appears Rose tweaked that ankle again, will be tough for Bulls to beat the Hawks with the way JJ is currently playing.
Lakers probably just breathed life into the Mavs team. The Mavs are not the Hornets they are a much better team. I have always though LA was going to win the west again but not so sure now. My conference finals projection would be;

Memphis Vs Dallas
Heat Vs Hawks

Yup. round 2 is going to be upsets galore.

CNNSI has the Suns involved in 3 of the greatest 25 playoff series of all time.

0-3.

Ugh.

It is interesting to see the bulls struggling in the playoffs. it's almost like rose is the only guy they have at times. I think this series vs. the hawks will be interesting. the hawks are playing very well right now(like memphis in the west). should be a good series.

Meh.

All the teams that lost game one will win their series.

Mark it down.

you're still holding to that "realistic" call you made back in October that Miami won't make the Conference Finals, huh? good look with that.

their series with Boston is over in 6 MAX IMO and they'll demolish whoever they get in the Conference Finals.

Ok, Geesebeef. Keep poppin' your Bosh jersey.

Miami won't win a game in Boston. Comes back to Miami 2-2, and game 5 is purely to determine if Boston wins in 6 or if they have to go all 7 games, where Boston will win on Miami's floor.

Funny that you are calling a series done because the Heat held serve on their court for the first two games. Even though Boston was tied with 6 minutes to go in this one, and Miami kept giving up huge leads over and over again in game one. That kind of show is fine at home - not on the road.

The only way they "demolish" the bulls is if Rose's ankle is truly bad. And if that's the case, they will luck into Atlanta, which they would demolish.

It was realistic then. That was before the Celtics traded away Perkins and seriously hurt their chances vs the Heat. They were 3-0 vs the Heat before the trade and have now gone 0-3 (0-1 reg season, 0-2 in the playoffs) vs the Heat without Perkins.

As a Lakers fan I'll cry no tears for the Celtics.

********... if were gonna play the "they don't have players card", they Heat are playing without two starters all season long Brian.

besides, donald was saying this nonsense even AFTER that trade... not to mention he was somehow pimping that AWFUL Orlando team after it was apparent they were done after being undressed by the Cs last post-season.

not poppin' ****. just pointing out how ridiculous your statements were back then. i mean, you thought ORLANDO was going to be good enough to stand in their way after it was BLATANTLY apparent that team was exposed in the Cs series last year.

uh, holding serve in what's supposed to be a 7 game series is big and you know it. no team wants to go home without a split in an evenly matched series because they know they have no margin for error... even less for a team of geriatrics running on fumes. The Big 3 have never been down 2-0 in a series, they looked washed up against the Knicks at home and the Heat are making them look like yesterday's news.

The only way they "demolish" the bulls is if Rose's ankle is truly bad. And if that's the case, they will luck into Atlanta, which they would demolish.

wow... you got your excuses all lined up already, huh? good to know.

Boston looks old and tired compared to the Heat. The Big 3 in Boston just can't match the Big 3 in Miami... so far. Who knows, maybe the Celtics will find a fountain of youth when they return to their home court. But, even if they do, I really don't seem them winning 4 games against the Heat. They need Ray Allen and Pierce to go nuts offensively. And while they might just do that over the next 2 games, they won't do that over the next 4-5 games... It's the Heat in this one... and I think it'll be Atlanta in the other series. Even if Rose was 100%, I just don't think you can win in the post season when your leading scorer and Mr. Do-It-All is your point guard, with virtually no other major scoring threat.

As the Suns have seen from Kevin Johnson to Steve Nash.
But they had several other major scoring threats over the years, from Chambers and Barkley to Stoudemire, so this isn't quite true. In fact, the Suns have never really relied on their point guard to be their leading scorer like the Bulls do (other than the few Marbury seasons).

Dumbest move ever. That's Danny for you.

Actually, I wasn't saying much of anything before or after the trade. I made my points early on, and then pretty much butted out of the conversation other than to poke and prod Gee and his new favorite team. Notice the Heat thread in Smack Shack is pretty quiet? The Celtics lost a huge piece in Perkins, but they still have the old dirty horses to beat the heat. I'm sticking to that.

The awful orlando team would still have been a hard out for the Heat, but they avoided that due to standings, because Orlando wouldn't have beaten Chicago anyway. But from a matchup perspective, Orlando and the Heat were an interesting one that Miami wouldn't have waltzed through at all.

Excuses? You're funny Geese. Atlanta is a paper kitty, and can't hang with the heat matchupwise. If Rose's ankle is shot, then the Bulls lose. I see no excuse there.

The Bulls have homecourt against the Heat, and no fear of them. If Rose is ok, they will beat ATL and IF the Heat can squeak by the Celtics, they certainly aren't remotely coming close to "demolishing" the Bulls. THAT is laughable, bro.

a) can we talk baskteball and not call each other names like 8 year olds?

the bulls got whipped with his ankle being fine in Game 1 and looked like hot garbage against Indy. the only paper kitty in the East is the Bulls, same as the Spurs were in the west.

yeah, I think you're wrong. the Bulls look like they're fearful of ANYONE at this point, choking on their own expectations. A team who's leaders have that little playoff experience is a sucker's bet compared to a team with guys who have led teams to the Finals AND won them.

THAT is laughable, bro.

yeah, we'll see. then again, you're the one who said it was realistic that the Heat wouldn't make it to the ECF and that Orlando would be a huge road block for them so what you say is laughable should be taken with a bag of salt.
