Dumbest move ever. That's Danny for you.

Actually, I wasn't saying much of anything before or after the trade. I made my points early on, and then pretty much butted out of the conversation other than to poke and prod Gee and his new favorite team.

you mean you didn't say this in March:

"Still won't make it out of the East. They can't get by the Bulls, Magic, Celtics and maybe even the Knicks." The Knicks... holy haterade.

Notice the Heat thread in Smack Shack is pretty quiet?

sure i do... that's what happens when a team that you've bashed a ton suddenly starts making you look really foolish.

The Celtics lost a huge piece in Perkins, but they still have the old dirty horses to beat the heat. I'm sticking to that.

The awful orlando team would still have been a hard out for the Heat, but they avoided that due to standings, because Orlando wouldn't have beaten Chicago anyway. But from a matchup perspective, Orlando and the Heat were an interesting one that Miami wouldn't have waltzed through at all.

that Orlando team stunk. The Heat would have let Howard go nuts and you would have seen the same result there that you saw with the Hawks IMO.

But they had several other major scoring threats over the years, from Chambers and Barkley to Stoudemire, so this isn't quite true. In fact, the Suns have never really relied on their point guard to be their leading scorer like the Bulls do (other than the few Marbury seasons).
When the Chuckster called KJ "Franchise, Jr." while he was putting up 20/10 seasons and KJ wouldn't give up the ball to Barkley with the game on the line, it was quite true.

The Suns before KJ didn't really have a Point Guard. Westphal and Buse. Westphal and DJ. So it wasn't appropros then.

I felt strongly then, as now, that if your Point Guard has to lead the team in scoring, or average 20 ppg, the team is limited.

wha? Barkley almost ALWAYS had the ball at crunch time. I can still remember him just BLOWING a chippy with 1:30 left against the Bulls in Game 6 that would have put us up 6... or missing 2 clutch FTs in a row that would have closed out Houston in Game 5 in 1995... or his move on Robinson that was the game winner versus San Antonio... that he then tried at the end of every close game, NEVER able to duplicate the shot. Ball was almost always in his hands at the end except by the end of those Houston series when he was inevitably hurt and could barely move anymore and then only way we stayed close was KJ taking over.

Because they are BORING bro. Wade, Bron and Bosh. Boring. Most talented borefest of all time.

And I love me some Wade.

And I threw in a one-note concerto of "yep, still not making the Finals" a couple of months ago. So, uhm..yeah, really I've been beating that drum so hard?

The ONLY person on this entire board who has two tits in the game for the Heat is Gee. That's it. I think they will flop. I'm personally sure of it. Might be wrong, but so what? You think for the time being until they prove you wrong until they prove you right or then wrong again or then right or whatever the ef you think, they are the bees knees or embarrassing or whatever. I have no clue whether you are lapdogging them with Gee or just playing Contrary Cheesebeef. I really don't care. They are so not on my personal radar. Either they face the Lakers, or they don't. That's all. Right now, the Lakers plan to back out of the playoffs early with their tail between their legs, so I really don't care about the east. But Miami isn't some juggernaut that you and Gee and ESPN want to make them out to be. Heat check that.

not poppin' ****. just pointing out how ridiculous your statements were back then. i mean, you thought ORLANDO was going to be good enough to stand in their way after it was BLATANTLY apparent that team was exposed in the Cs series last year.

uh, holding serve in what's supposed to be a 7 game series is big and you know it. no team wants to go home without a split in an evenly matched series because they know they have no margin for error... even less for a team of geriatrics running on fumes. The Big 3 have never been down 2-0 in a series, they looked washed up against the Knicks at home and the Heat are making them look like yesterday's news.

wow... you got your excuses all lined up already, huh? good to know.
Hey, Cheese, I am also a Heat basher. Are you just now coming on here and pointing out how ridiculous is was for people to say the Heat could not win? I am too lazy to look it up. Weak sauce, waiting until the Heat get this far to say, wow you all were silly wrong about the Heat.

As for the Bulls, ugh, they have yet to turn up their game to a playoff level for more than 5 minutes at a time. I think they have the pieces, but the intensity isn't there. And the ATL was making every shot not taken by Josh Smith.

This particular move to get rid of perkins was dumb clearly. it was dumb then and it is still dumb now. Even if they came to the conclusion that they wern't bringning him back next year, they could have gone for another ring. I don't know that perkins was the difference between boston winning a ring or not, but as of now they really look lost.

Miami is polarizing. People were all over them from the get-go because of LBJ(not wade or bosh). LBJ is the most hyped up player in the league(not the best player)....he's reggie bush-human highlight film. But that doesn't make him the best player overall. He has a game like last night and everyone loves him like he is the greatest thing. They lost every big game it seemed like in the regular season except for the 2 games against the lakers(so of corse there are going to be doubters). I think the heat might win the east, but I just don't think they will win the finals over a team like the lakers.

From there I still wouldn't count boston out of this series. they aren't finishing games in the epic manner that everyone was talking about before the series started. I don't know if they can even it up, but if they want to win this series they have to tie it at home. If it is 2-2 after boston the advantage are the celtics.

Please enlighten us in what regard "dumb moves" are typical for Danny Ainge.

He was a terrible GM for 3 years prior to the trade frenzy that got him the big 3 douches. He lied about wanting to spend time with his family to quit the suns job, only to take a TNT job a few months later that had him on the road as much or more than he was as a coach.

And then, all his decisions he made during his general douchebaggery of being alive and being Danny Ainge.

Remember...Lakers Fan. Ainge is in a special circle of hate for me.

huh? where am I making them out to be a juggernaut? i just think the Cs are finished and have never been impressed with the Bulls. Hell, if they faced the Lakers in the Finals, I'd actually expect the Lakers to beat them.

try not projecting so much Heatred on me, ok?

no, I told Donald his take was laughable last year at the beginning of the season. go look in the smack shack.

they have no legit second option. until they get one, they're not going to make the Finals.

HEATRED!

I love it.

I don't think the Lakers would beat them without homecourt. I also don't think the Lakers would beat the Bulls without HC either. So pretty much my team is a fail this year.

I think you completely over-value the Bulls. Every young team title contender (and the Bulls are basically babies) need to fail on the big stage before they win one.

Lakers-Heat... i go back and forth on. HCA would be big for the Heat, but I fear if the Lakers got there, that little bit of experience plus Jackson versus. Spoelstra would put them over the top. but man, that series would be a war.

only way i'd lean towards the Heat there is if Haslem had fully recovered and reintegrated into the team. they're still missing one scroungy big to throw at LA and not that Haslem is all that big, but he's a dependable glue guy, ala PJ Brown who can at least body the Laker big men.

"Heatred" is gold... and I have a whole bag of it. :D

I think it's more of a LeBron thing for me, I do like Wade/Bosh. This series is far from over IMO, only thing that happened in Miami was they didn't choke at home. Now it's up to Boston to do the same, Perkins looks like the dumbest move this year right now. Shaq will not be a difference maker (whether he plays or not), it's going to take all of Rondo/Garnett/Paul/Allen to do it.

Miami has young superstar talent, Boston has old superstar talent + Rondo, I see 7 games with Miami winning big in the 7th game meaning I think it will be all about homecourt in this series.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miami sweeps Boston..

boston will win game 3... they got a huge break with four days off between games and they'll muster one final stand in Game 3. wouldn't surprise me though to see this end in 5.

I despise Boston, but despise the self proclaimed King even more. I will like to see Boston kick Miami to the curbs but it is not going to happen. Heat will beat Celtics.

I agree with both parts of that sentence. However, Dwayne (my mother can't spell) Wade is one of my favorite players. I just love his no-nonsense approach to the game. I love the way he retaliates for the antics of Pierce and Garnett without posturing, without theatrics and without complaining. He just lowers his shoulder and plows straight ahead. I hate Miami but I could still respect a Wade championship especially if it kept the two leading douche bags in Boston from advancing.

I like your thinking, Steve. The only thing that gives me a little pleasure is that the I believe the "King" has ruined his legacy. When I watch the Heat, Wade is their standout superstar and leader. I think LeBron will no longer be compared to the best ever going forward. He sealed his fate when he took his talents to South Beach to play alongside Wade.

yeah...i've always thought wade was as valuable of a player to have on your team. lebron has a lot of potential, but I think he did lose a lot of respect by going to miami.
