Hey, the Mavs beat the Spurs in game seven of the WCF in 2006. I surely enjoyed that. As for Barea: I'd love him on the Suns. Tough little dude.
that mavericks team played hard and had the toughness needed to win in the playoffs. this mavs team has that same attitude, but they don't have as talented of a backcourt. not stack, howard, or harris beating people off the dribble to score in the paint. a bunch of older guys shooting jumpers. barea has the heart, but he is just too small to be a real factor against a team like the lakers. hell he struggles to score on the blazers.

I know this.

I don't say it's meaningless... but if you think games in January are as important as games in March/April that actually DIRECTLY impact playoff seeding, well, then i don't know what to tell you. When the pressure's on, especially this season, the Lakers made the Mavs look like fools.

well... winning a game in January when you have the entire season ahead of you doesn't really compare to getting your ass handed to you twice when you can lock down homecourt IMO. Call me crazy there.

who says I'm getting worked up?

that's where we differ. I hate them with a passion and that's why i'm pissed they're playing Dallas because they won't get tested and have no shot to lose that series.

nor should you... I just think you're team is tissue paper soft... even upfront. Your PF averages 7 rebounds per game and your C is a good rebounder, but a twig who will get pushed around by the Lakers size. You literally don't have an advantage anywhere on the court. The one place you normally do on other teams is... Dirk... but he and Pau cancel each other out and Bynum can throw chandler around like a rag doll.

actually, you continually post things about how the Mavs get under the Lakers skin... and i'm telling you, there really couldn't be anything further from the truth. you sound like Cardinals fans back in the day who used to think there was some big rivalry between us and the Cowboys when in reality, the Cowboys paid the Cardinals little mind because they were never a threat to them. Same pretty much applies here for the Lakers and their fans and I don't blame them.

I hope I'm wrong, but i just see y'all getting demolished.
To answer more of your post I agree there is a difference between a game in jan and one in april. I honestly was surprised that the lakers killed dallas in LA and then tanked the rest of the season away when they could have got the #1 seed or at least locked the #2 before the last game of the year in which they still almost lost. So that's where I'm confused. If they were not thinking dallas was a team to be concerned about why did they put so much emphasis on beating them and then take the rest of the season off when they claimed to be gunning for a top seed?

they got sooooo close to the Spurs and then they lost one game and the spurs got every one back healthy and then it became apparent that it was gonna be impossible to catch SA so they completely checked out. that's what it looked like and then when it seemed like they might even slip below the 2, they somehow scratch out wins. that's what i'm talking about. they're the biggest ****-tease for laker haters and i just refuse to get excited about them losing again.

I get that. Honestly, if the mavs lose to the blazers, lakers, or whoever, I would cheer for the team that beat us...then the team that wins the west. I'd rather not see the lakers or celtics win in favor for a new team, but i don't know. I just hope the mavs win one soon while dirk is still here.

While I don't agree that the mavs front line is paper tissue soft( maybe they aren't as good overall as LA). You brought up a good point that dirk and pau cancel each other out. the mavs window to win a title is very small. they have to get dirk some help. he is the only guy on his team that can carry his team on his back every night. the lakers have kobe and gasol...then guys like odom/bynum that can both score as well. dallas' scoring is very inconsistent after dirk. having a guy like dirk and not winning a title would be a waste. He can score on anyone from anywhere he wants to and he is a great closer. All they really need to do is add another legitimate scorer in the backcourt and the mavs would be a solid contender.

Right now I like chandler's attitude. the way he has played in this series vs. portland is the way he needs to play all of the time. the mavs actually should give him the ball more to score. marion also is playing well right now. the blazers were supposed to beat dallas in this series because they are a tough big team with length. so far so good for dallas...they just gotta win one more. dirk isn't shooting the ball at his average, but he is getting to the line a lot and taking the ball to the paint often. So his scoring is still high. the blazers don't have the talent in the back court to really make dallas pay like the lakers would. that to me would be the difference in a series vs. LA. the mavs front line would keep it close.

Holy guacamole! Overtime in San Antonio, 3 pointers like that can swing a series momentum, but then again, it's the Spurs.

Hmmm...start of an epic comeback by the Spurs in this series or just postponing the inevitable end?

Pretty exciting end to regulation with those 2 clutch shots by the Spurs.

Westbrook has straight ignored Durant on some of these plays in the 4th quarter. I don't think they are gelling as of late.

Nervous?!?!? Dude hit 6 straight free toss in a huge game. No nervousness there.
Hey I didn't say he was nervous...i said he looked nervous. lol, but i might have just mistaken that for focus(or maybe I just wanted him to miss so that the series wasn't ended that quickly) LOL

The guy is one of the best players in the league. There aren't very many guys like him who are unstoppable every night. hopefully for memphis' sake he will get some recognition from this.

We will just have to see. If Memphis just treats it like one loss they will win this series. If they let it stay in their heads that they should have won that game then it might hurt them. They have to have amnesia!!! At the end of the day the odds wern't in SA's favor to win that game(at the end) and the odds are not in their favor to win this series at this point.

so... who does Dwight Howard get traded to or are the Magic going to be left holding their dick in their hands just like they did with Shaq, or just like Cleveland did with Bron? or just like Toronto did with Bosh...

Howard to Boston?

they don't have pieces to get him.

the teams that do are probably... The Knicks (either Melo or Amare)... Lakers (unbelievably with bynum)... maybe Miami if they fall short and part with one of their big three (it would be beyond hilarious to see James traded... and to be honest, a big three of Wade, Howard and Bosh would DEMOLISH everyone and they'd all have roles that fit each other) or maybe the Bulls if they start the package off with Noah, Boozer and picks)... MAYBE New Jersey with Brook Lopez and a bunch of picks (that they probably don't have since they gave them up for Williams)...

those are all MAJOR markets with big men or super-stars that could be traded.
