Aaron Brooks signs w/Kings. 2 years $6.6 million. Reasonable contract for Brooks I think. He never really got to show his stuff following his ankle injury. He could be a gem for them.

He's a chucker with speed who couldn't guard a chair. He's awful. He's like an Eddie House with no concsience on a constant green light to take bad shots.

Very reasonable contract in todays NBA. :)

Good God! 12 million a year...

Well the Suns were going to pay that much for Eric Gordon and I think Humphries is more than Gordon. Humphries signed a one year contract with the Nets last season for 9M.

He had some catching up to do. :)

You think Humphries is better than Gordon? How do you figure that? Humphries is the prototypical PF role player. You don't pay max level money for that.

I've always liked Humphries since he played in Utah. IMO, he can anchor a good front line. I always thought he was never fully valued. Add a player like him to the Suns frontline they become powerful and not vanilla anymore. Winning starts upfront IMO. I don't believe in overspending for a small SG.

In regards to winning Humphries is more than Gordon.

Hill is potentially a big time addition to the Clips. They really needed a wing defender, and another leader in the locker-room.

But, I think Grants last legs fell off back around February. He looked like he was straining pretty bad BEFORE he tore his knee. I'll be surprised if he stays healthy enough to make an impact.

Completely disagree. Humphries is a nice piece to have, but it's debatable whether he's even starting-caliber. You don't pay 12 million a year for that.

as one of only a handful of players who averaged double-doubles in the last two years, I don't think it's really that debatable whether he's starting caliber. The guy is a solid starting PF. but 12 million for a solid PF is wayyyy too much for that guy.

Well, we're debating now, right? ;)

I've also heard the guy is a locker room cancer. Makes that salary even worse IMO.

Andray Blatche is going to be amnestyed by washington. Not sure what the minimum bid is, but temas are running out of money, Suns may be able to take advantage of some of these amnesties.

Blatche isnt a bad idea to me, hes good for 16 and 8 with starters minutes and hes only 26. Id take a flyer on him if hes cheap..

Crap Suns already got scola..

I am definitely not a Knick fan but it is driving me crazy they cannot afford Lin so he is likely going to end up with the Rockets. I would enjoy if the Suns could disrupt the Rockets plan of signing Lin by working something out with the Knicks.

Any ideas that would benefit the Suns and let the Knicks keep Lin?

Doubt it, wishful thinking. Knicks dont have any more assets as far as i know anyways.

I cant believe they arent going to match. Kidd and Felton? Whaaaa?

No I think it would benefit the Suns to let them sign Lin. With really only Martin, they don't have nearly the stars as NY and Lin's production will drop. His contract will take them out of any moves in three years. If they don't get someone this year with thier cap space the will have over 30 Million with Lin and Osik alone lol.

I like your spin. I hope the Rockets overplay their hand with all the tinkering.

The bloated contracts of Amare, Melo and Chandler are preventing the Knicks from wanting to match. So, no, I dont see any deal being worked out that helps the Suns and Knicks... and allows money to be freed up for Lin.

I still dont get it though from the Knicks perspective. Fat Felton and Kidd are your plans? Doesnt this team have like a 2 or 3 year window (at most) for contention?... if the window is open at all. Even if Lin isnt as good as that contract, he provides at least as much as those two stiffs do AND he is going to bring in a haul of money from Chinese fans. Especially considering the Knicks have their own TV network.

No, if the Rockets are successful in signing both players they will only have a total of about 16mil for both players in their final year.

Did I miss something?

ESPN said:
The Rockets' offer to Lin would pay him $5 million in the first year, $5.225 million in the second and $14.8 million in the third, according to sources.

I have already written that I think it would be a mistake for the Bulls to match the offer sheet for Asik because of the huge cap hit worth almost $15 million in the final year of the deal.
