I just don't understand what the plan is. That was the last thing this team needed and I don't think there was anyone on the planet that would say he was the BPA

By the way I hated the Len pick last year

As did I

Some head scratching picks here. I am unhappy.

Ennis is just plain stupid unless we have something in the works from Toronto. And TJ seems like all the other SF's we have. Underwhelming athletically with a scrappy makeup.

I would have taken the dude from Mich State. (Harris)

I see the Suns being big players this offseason facilitating trades and free agent signings with our capspace (for a small fee of course).

I would have taken Harris too but I think it's far too early to pass judgement. I also don't see a problem with drafting TJ, I don't see another player on our roster anything like him. He has a few traits in common with PJ but they aren't all that similar and I don't see him being anything like Marcus. He wouldn't have been my first choice but Player of the Year in a major conference is rarely a bad thing.

Wasn't Alando Tucker player of the year too?

I can live with Warren although I think he is a Marcus Morris clone.

But Ennis? Just to replace Ish Smith...

Coro tweeted that we picked him to keep him.

The #Suns drafted Ennis to keep him. Expect them to trade #27 for a future pick. Warren is the most ready to help next season. #sunsdraft

Hopefully we get another pick next year cause that kid from Brazil does nothing for me

TJ Warren

http://www.nba.com/draft/2014/prospects/tj_warren?ls=iref:nba:draft:tracker

Reminds me of: Alex English

What Insiders Say

N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried

“He had a really good freshman year, but didn't make very many 3s, shot about 54 percent from the foul line. He had some really nice games as a freshman, and then he'd kind of hide in some, and he wasn't as consistent. And then I think throughout this year, really this summer and then throughout this year, we've all watched him become more consistent. He's improved every part of his game, even the defensive side of things he's gotten much better.”

What Outsiders Say

Xavier coach Chris Mack

“He's a tremendous shooter. Coach Gottfried does an excellent job of getting him free on screening actions. He can change the game. Just two or three consecutive possessions they're going to free him up for two or three 3s, and the next thing you know you're down 10 points. When he's playing well and shooting at a high level, they're a different team.”

Warren plays like a throwback. In an era where the three is viewed as everything by the analytics community, he shot a horrid 26.7 percent from 3-point range. But he still led the ACC in scoring (24.9 ppg) and won ACC Player of the Year honors. He doesn't talk trash. He just fills up the stat sheet.

Tyler Ennis

http://www.nba.com/draft/2014/prospects/tyler_ennis?ls=iref:nba:draft:tracker

What Insiders Say

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim

“Without a doubt the smartest point guard I’ve had as a freshman, and probably the best in pressure situations of any freshman point guard I’ve had. He replaced a first-round draft pick [Michael Carter-Williams] and never missed a beat.”

What Outsiders Say

Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon

“You look at a guy like Ennis with all that he can do. I think I saw a statistic that he hasn’t turned the ball over in the last five minutes of a game all season. He is as good a point guard as there is in the country, and having guys that are that solid is important for any successful program.”

Ennis replaced Michael Carter-Williams, taken eighth overall by the 76ers, at Syracuse, and immediately made his mark on the Orange program with a game-winning shot at Pittsburgh in February. He led the ACC in steals and assists per game, and was named a freshman all-America by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

He's just 19, but like MCW, his potential is likely to wind up being rewarded with a lottery selection.

Pretty cool 3D view NBA.COM has got going on in those links.

Well with 2 picks in the teens I would think the Suns would swing for a high upside pick.

Instead they took low ceiling / high floor need picks.

Totally agree. We have a ton of good but not great players. I don't see how that changes with either of our picks, unless they are part of a trade. Not impressed.

Great pick, another stashable player. I don't know anything about the player, I just like that we didn't sell the pick and we have a guy that might develop down the road.
