If it's starting to look like Minny will get the #9 seed come early April, then you can guarantee that their suddenly gonna "rest" Love, Pekovic and Martin so they can lose a couple more to keep their pick to themselves for this year.

I think this happens far less than many people suggest. You run the risk of alienating your players, players whose salaries depend on those numbers you are now depriving them of. It's a risky venture.

Stern has retired. Without his conspiratorial efforts we're a lock for the postseason. :sarcasm:
Adam Silver grew up in Westchester County, just outside New York City He is a lawyer and the son of a lawyer.

It will be interesting to see if, regarding the Suns, he is a continuation of Stern. It wouldn't be a surprise. Stern was his mentor. Your :sarcasm: was well placed.

I guess not. Apparently it has contributed to a misunderstanding. I'm on the other side of this issue. I don't believe that Stern or the NBA ever conspired against us. I believe we were screwed by a league decision and I believe we were screwed by a gambling referee but I don't believe Stern or the league actively conspired to deprive us of a championship. Bad things happen to good teams.

Embiid and Parker both talking about returning for their sophomore years. That would be very good for the Suns with the Laker's pick next year.

The more I think about it, I don't think the Lakers will be in the high lottery next year... consider the fact that they will might win the lottery this year (yeah, I am calling for the out right rigging of the system this year) and draft Jabari, Kobe will be back after a full season of rest, and they will sign a couple of role players. That should be enough to contend for the playoffs if they can keep Gasol.

I have a hard time believing Jabari, or anyone else for that matter projected in the top slots, when they say they will return to college and pass up $3+ million guaranteed.

It's a lot more money than that. Late first-round picks have only ~$2 million guaranteed, but the scale escalates dramatically as you get to the top. Anthony Bennett has $10.9 million guaranteed through his first two seasons, and another $13.1 million over the next two if Cleveland takes his options, which they almost certainly will.

Again, I have to say that Jordan Bachynski seems to be highly underrated as far as this draft goes. The knocks on him are that he is a late bloomer, he is a senior, he is 24 years old, and is not as strong as some would like.

I am not sure what about age matters if he clearly is still improving. He is 7-2 with a 7-4 wingspan which makes him a huge shot changer in the middle. He has mobility and good hand eye dexterity and is one of the most prolific shotblockers in the history of the PAC 10/12 and top shot blocker in the nation. His rebounding has improved every year. He is already a much better rebounder than Robin Lopez or Channing Frye ever were.

He also is adding strength. Seems to me that a hard working player can fix the strength issue. He also seems to have no injury issues.

Definitely worth a second round pick.

Jordan Bachynski might also be worth the Suns late first round pick. He had 8 blocks against Arizona.

I don't know if I would go that high, but I would consider using the Indy pick on him.

I was referring to the Indiana pick when I said "late first round pick."

I bet he was looking at a lot of players though. McDonough is a walking basketball encyclopedia.

Wouldn't it be great if Marcus Smart dropped to one of the Suns picks? :D

Jordan Bachynski doesn't do much for me, I do like Jahii Carson though. Jeff Withey and Greg Stiemsma looked better and that's probably the worst Center rotation in NBA.

Just saying he is worth a look. Nothing more.

I completely missed the recent U of A/ASU game but wasn't impressed with his 1st game against Wildcats so... I don't watch ASU much, maybe I'm being bitter. Lol

He has a really good run in the last few games. Several game saving blocks.

Well if they are high in the lottery, we won't get their pick anyways since its top 5 protected.

Anyone know anything about Zach LaVine?

Depends who you ask but the rumor on UCLA boards is he's still leaning towards leaving. There's some question on whether he's particularly happy that he gets no backup PG run because Steve Alford is playing his son as the backup PG.

Most NBA teams seem to see Zach as possibly being able to move to PG in the NBA because he played it in HS and can handle the ball and pass.

That said he's been massively exposed since the conf games started, he's not strong enough and his whole game right now is dunks in transition or 3's, he can't finish through any contact and teams are taking away his favorite shots.

Conf only he's shooting 40% and the trend until recently was getting worse. Not a good defender although he's getting better. He's a good kid, great leaper, has deep range on his shot but takes terrible shots and has no idea what to do off the ball, he comes off the screen and he shoots no matter how closely guarded he is.

Needs to come back but the claim is he's leaving. Kyle Anderson's dad recently posted he's heard that Zach is leaning to going because he thinks another year will further expose him since UCLA won't have a pure PG with Kyle leaving. Since nobody seems to believe Alford will play Zach at PG next season, he is probably gone.

Lotta talent but he's exactly what is wrong with the one and done where people are pushing him to turn pro before his stock falls further when they should be telling him to hit the weight room and learn about shot selection.

Thanks for the info. That is good stuff.

I'm leaning towards PG in Draft. I kind of expected or think the Suns Trade a couple Picks for SF (preferably) or PF at Trade deadline/Offseason but with upgrade at SF:

SF upgrade
Dragic
Bledsoe

Suns would potentially have 3 Star like players starting; a SF (Tucker) off bench that can guard nearly any position, a G/F in G. Green that can score at will, Goodwin's upside, potentially a PG to groom (Draft) being that you often see PG's slide in Draft and could be insurance incase Bledsoe/Dragic are out for long periods of time, and Smith who could be third guard until Drafted PG/Goodwin is ready.

The front court could improve at SF and with Plumlee, Len, and Morrii maturing. Frye will likely be back and is decent enough on defense and is top tier Catch and Shoot player and outside of Love I don't see many upgrades available. Morrii are solid scoring off bench: Markieff in close (though undersized) and both can Catch and Shoot, Drive, and Pull up. 15' would be year I possibly look for a PF/C, via Draft with Lakers/Suns/Wolves Picks...

I'd worry about the bigs in Playoffs next year but Morrii and Frye will be on a contract year and I assume Plumlee and Len are going to improve by a lot.

I'm lost on which SF would make most sense using NBA.com's Player Tracking stats though; I've been preaching for SF All year but with maybe a week using stats at that site has me back at square one. SF's are typically available unlike PF's.
