Anyone know anything about Zach LaVine?
Depends who you ask but the rumor on UCLA boards is he's still leaning towards leaving. There's some question on whether he's particularly happy that he gets no backup PG run because Steve Alford is playing his son as the backup PG.
Most NBA teams seem to see Zach as possibly being able to move to PG in the NBA because he played it in HS and can handle the ball and pass.
That said he's been massively exposed since the conf games started, he's not strong enough and his whole game right now is dunks in transition or 3's, he can't finish through any contact and teams are taking away his favorite shots.
Conf only he's shooting 40% and the trend until recently was getting worse. Not a good defender although he's getting better. He's a good kid, great leaper, has deep range on his shot but takes terrible shots and has no idea what to do off the ball, he comes off the screen and he shoots no matter how closely guarded he is.
Needs to come back but the claim is he's leaving. Kyle Anderson's dad recently posted he's heard that Zach is leaning to going because he thinks another year will further expose him since UCLA won't have a pure PG with Kyle leaving. Since nobody seems to believe Alford will play Zach at PG next season, he is probably gone.
Lotta talent but he's exactly what is wrong with the one and done where people are pushing him to turn pro before his stock falls further when they should be telling him to hit the weight room and learn about shot selection.
