In other news, ESPN is reporting that during this Finals run, the Heat are trying to figure out how to become a "Big Four" and sign Carmelo Anthony over the summer.

I read this as well. Somehow the Commissioner is going to have to find a way to give some parity to the NBA.

Carmelo is exactly what that team doesn't need. They need to look to replace Wade I don't see that guy making through another long season. I was talking to my boy about this and he said bet Lance Stevenson goes to the Heat I think Lebron likes him in a way and appreciates the effort he gave when the rest of that team folded. Pretty interesting but they need to do something at PG because Wade and Chalmers aren't a long term answer

Or Eric Bledsoe goes there for a much smaller contract than anyone would expect. And Bledsoe's endorsement deals take off and more than make up the difference in salary.

Why wouldn't the Suns match it, then?

You got me. I just didn't think the Lance idea was likely so I tried to come up with an equally unlikely scenario. In retrospect, I might have moved from unlikely to farfetched.

man...I gave LeBron a lot of slack for joining forces with Wade and Bosh and even more as I watched Wade become a shell of himself over the last couple years as he took that team to a title, but at some point, putting yourself on an all-star team to win titles has to start taking away from his legacy. Putting Melo on this team just seems ridiculous and would call LeBron's competitive spirit into question for me.

On top of that, its one thing for one of these superstars with in excess of 100 million already earned in salary and endorsements to give up a few mil per year to pair with fellow superstars, but its really hard to picture a young guy who has only played under his rookie contract to sacrifice a large portion of his salary.

Lebron: Hey little buddy, I can get you major bucks sponsorships with Coca Cola, Nike, MacDonalds, Upper Deck and a few others if you're willing to sign with us on the cheap.

Bledsoe: Sure. I don't care where the money comes from just as long as I get my payday. It might take me a year but I'll see in you in Miami.

Not that I think this will happen but if something like this hasn't already happened yet, it sure seems like it will eventually. It might not happen with the number one sponsor in any industry but I could see the runner-up willing to cross that line. We've already heard a few times about sponsors influencing destinations for free agents.

You're hilarious. Every time you get called out for speaking nonsense, you resort to one of three defenses:

1. You were joking all along and we just weren't sophisticated enough to tell.

2. It's your opinion, and sure, all learned consensus may be against you, but dag gum, your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's.

3. In some bizarre fantasy or conspiracy scenario that you just made up, what you said would not necessarily be complete nonsense, and that's all you meant in the first place.

It's pointless to try to discuss anything with you, because you refuse to be engaged by any of the evidence that anyone else bases their opinions on. There's your world and then there's everyone else's world, and if there's no overlap between them, that's just our problem.

I thought I clearly admitted I was wrong. How did that not come across? Is it absolutely necessary to use the words "I was wrong" for you to realize that's what I'm saying? If so, then, yes I was wrong. I completely missed the obvious fact that we have the right to match an offer.

There is no such thing. But, if there were, I'm pretty sure Bob Seger would tell you to Turn the Page before you traveled down that dark desert highway with the cool wind in your hair. And even the Eagles would tell you to check out their ballad, The Last Resort before making such a ridiculous claim. BTW, there are at least a hundred songs on my list of the single greatest rock and roll song of all time.

Steve
Steve, I love Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band and everything they have recorded, including the occasional ballads.

And I love the Eagles (I'll be seeing them at Jobing.com on Oct. 1st) with their two lead singers and two lead guitars. And the few ballads with Timothy B. Schmidt singing lead.

But neither of the two ballads you mentioned, "Turn The Page" or "The Last Resort", would qualify as the greatest Rock'n'Roll song of either group (technically or commercially), let along the greatest of all time.

With the emphasis on Rock'n'Roll, the combination of the lead Eagles lined up across the stage for "Hotel California", with the focus moving from the dramatic double guitar intro and fadeout of Don Felder and Joe Walsh to Don Henley's lead to the backup voices of Glen Frey and Timothy B. Schmidt captures the heart of Rock'n'Roll. (No, I'm not plugging Huey Lewis & The News, although they did some good pure Rock'n'Roll, as well. :) )

I, too, have a long list of personal favorites -- I have downloaded over 1,800 individual (not album) youtube performances. But I don't think suggesting that Hotel California is the greatest pure Rock'n'Roll song of all time is "ridiculous".

Perhaps it is not everyone's opinion. But, hardly ridiculous. I am surprised that you, of all people, used that as your critique. But I still think you're a cool guy! Remember, we are programmed to receive, but you can never leave. :)

It's not a ridiculous selection and I didn't mean it that way. But apparently a lot of what I say comes across other than intended. Anyway, I love music, always have. I'd be hard pressed to select a greatest ever song although I do believe Turn the Page should be on the short list along with Hotel California. And yes, I really do think Hotel California is one of the greatest songs and one of the greatest albums ever.

But, depending on my mood, I'd also put Goodbye (Pretenders), Little Red Book (Love), Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon&Garfunkel), Sympathy For the Devil (Stones), Lorca's Novena (Pogues), My Immortal (Evanescence), Closing Time (Leonard Cohen), Living on a Thin Line (Kinks), Everything is Never Quite Enough (Wasis Diop), Yesterday (Beatles), Shapes of Things (Yardbirds) and so many more into the greatest conversation. And I suspect Rolling Stone Magazine would call most of my choices ridiculous.

The songs "Turn The Page" by Bob Seger and "The Last Resort" by the Eagles are two of my all time favorites.

The lyrics to "The Last Resort" brings it to a another level.

And again with the white out, which is also a San Antonio color. Did the little girl mess up on the National Anthem again or something? :p

Missed the whole first half, but did not expect SA to be up by 19.

That freaking Diaw suspension in Game 5 still bugs the crap out of me. We win that game if we have him and definitely should have.

That was the most brutal, foul, disgusting, horrible turn of events that ever happened to the Suns.

The funny thing is that if the Suns had won that series, they might have been more motivated to keep Diaw long-term, and he wouldn't have wound up on the Spurs even now. Somehow it always works out for them.
