Horrible move but typical Jerry.
Reinforces my belief that Colangelo is an overrated fraud.
I really look forward to this... how is he a fraud?

He's not. And if he's overrated, he's less overrated than Sarver. But we don't need to break that down again.
Anyway, not a surprise. I didn't imagine Hinkie would last, either of his own volition or not. And if Jerry's going to bring someone in as an interim (that's actually my bigger question: is it interim?) why would we expect it not to be BC?
The fraud refers to Jerry, right? Because Bryan is a fraud as GM. His Toronto stint was the start of that, but also the fact he hasn't sniffed a job since 2013 sort of proves that, IMO. The Philly situation is a mess. They spent 3 years tanking and now they're shifting strategy? They have young talent and picks, but it could all go to hell if they get desperate and use their assets for mediocre talent that barely gets them in the playoffs.
AzStevenCal and slinslin you are correct. The Suns can't sit Booker for obvious reasons such as monthly awards and end of the year awards. I got caught in myopic thinking for a moment believing he could use some rest. However, Chandler, Teletovic and Ronnie Price are potential candidates if the situation were amiable.
I don't blame the league. Revenue sharing is the only reason Philly was able to get away with their pathetic routine, if the league is paying to keep your franchise afloat then the league should be able to step in if the franchise has become a parasite.
I get tanking when things go bad, but 4 years of deliberately awful basketball is waaaaay too much, and it still had no end in sight. Hinkie should have been fired.
That's what Philly fans fear. The difference is that JC is BC's boss. JC has never been satisfied with just making the playoffs. Also, his concept of an NBA team fits today's NBA better than ever. There is a reason for that. JC wrote and pushed for the rules that forced the changes.
I think Philly is going to be just fine.
Tele is going to be a free agent and is looking for his big pay day. He is auditioning for every team he plays against. You cannot sit him. Suns mgmt gets criticized for treating players poorly (all the players complaining when they leave). Fans cannot expect Suns mgmt to treat a player poorly and then criticize mgmt for doing so.
Right... Because FIVE games of not playing at the end of the year is going to KILL his FA chances. If he's got a big payday coming, those five games won't matter.
That said, it's highly unlikely there's any kind of big payday coming for him. Guys who put up okay stats on awful teams ain't exactly hot commodities on the FA market.
So you are saying that Mirza will NOT get a big pay day this summer, and his play of late would have no bearing on it whatsoever.
Ok. Hmmm.
yes. that's what I'm saying. I thought I was pretty clear on that.
these are meaningless stats in meaningless games.
This. We have sucked royally for quite some time now with the players that we had on the floor on Thursday. So why is it now all of the sudden a bad move to let that same group players keep playing? The Rockets should have destroyed us in their own building and they didn't. So if Suns fans are going to bicker about this win maybe they should aim it at the Rockets for playing like crap. And we're a meaningless team. There is no reason in the world that our roster should have been able to put together a win last night.
Maybe we bench Teletovic if we knew that Houston was going to give such a piss poor effort but what happens when we beat them even without him? Most of the fans here think Leuer is the better player, why not congratulate the team for only playing him 10 minutes last night? Stuff happens, last night it happened to us and we won our first game in our last 8.

Man valanciunas is a beast on the boards so far in game 1. 17 boards midway through the third quarter.
^^
Not a fan of the way Derozan played today. He sure shoots a lot.
